raiderapologist: You are a delusional fanatic. But the “apologist” portion of your monicker certainly suites your behavior.
You can cast all the personal insults you wish, but it’s not going to change the fact that McMuffin is quickly becoming a used-up bust. Give the tired old ZBS complaint a rest. The guy isn’t cutting it, and you aren’t going to be getting any help from anyone else on that team.
-----
I have no delusions and make no apologies. Rolando McClain is a bust. JaMunches Ruffles was a bust. Ryan Mathews was a reach and a bust. McFadden is not a bust. Give that a rest. Every team has guys that can play football. Antonio Gates can play football. Philip Rivers can play football. Darren McFadden can play football. Unlike most fans of your persuasion, you can do better work here.

Good for DHB. I like this kids attitude. He was obviously overdrafted (no surprise), but he earns his keep and works hard.

Now if we can just dump this zone blocking scheme and get back to last years power run game, we might keep the D off the field. And what's with the running out of bounds by all the receivers and running backs and coming up 1 yard short on 3rd downs because of it over and over again?

Walter Payton is turning over in his grave watching that.

This is great news for the Raiders. With a healthy DHB this team could be looking at 2, maybe even 3 more wins this season. This year's roster has the talent to be better than the 2006 squad!

I had predicted that McMuffin would hit IR before the bye. So, he’s made it further than I thought. However, his 3.5-yards per carry average is miserable, and has been falling in each game. Considering that he WAS the only offense that team had, that’s not a promising sign. Bye or no bye, he’s not just going to all of a sudden start putting up 5-6 yard averages, like they would need with a guy like Palmer at the helm.
-------
If McFadden crossed your path in the parking lot of Walgreen's while you were picking up your Cialis prescription he would flatten you you like a bug on a windshield without even knowing you were alive. He averaged 5.43 and led the league before he got hurt last season. He didn't ask to be put in a ZBS scheme this year, and didn't volunteer to run out of bounds. The Raiders are a mess, but it's not because of Palmer and McFadden. You just don't see that the words flying out of the gaping hole in your face are mostly stupid.

I was going to make a snarky remark, but I’ll cut the kid a break considering he got a decade or two of his life knocked out of him.
-----------
Make all the snarky comments you want, Douglas. Nobody expects anything else. Hayward-Bey had no control over his draft status. He works hard, and takes his hits like a man. His organ-grinder touchdown dance is a thing of beauty. Makes me laugh every time. He can get caught running the wrong route, and will never be an elite receiver, but he won't embarrass himself, unlike some Charger fans I could name.

I for one did not like Carson Palmer as a Bengal and I am squarely not in his corner as a Raider. He is the Captain of the check down and the King of the Interception.

I also did not like Greg Knapp his first time as the O-Cord in Oakland. This time.... well he is like that old girlfriend that you see when you go back home. Looks good but then when you are out you realized why you dumped her ass. Who calls an 8 yard pitch back on 3rd 1/2 a yard?

Greg needs to put down the coaching for dummies book and grab Carson on the first train out of jack London Square.

Give the defense more then a 3 and out effort on offense for 2 games in a row and they might be able to execute a game plan.

We need him! I think that many of the defensive issue are resulting from our inability to run. Running sustains drives, keeps the defense off the field, which in turn keeps them rested.

While they do not have the CB's or pass rush to be elite, I definitely think that they are better than what we have seen.
