You just don’t see such widespread character problems in a team that makes the playoffs, let alone actually wins playoff games.

The Lions have either been too willing to ignore character problems in the players they bring on, or simply blind to them. And the head coach either does not have enough respect among the players or is simply unable or unwilling to do what is necessary to turn a group of guys into a professional team.

If it weren’t for the clock operating error, which suspiciously happened in Detriot , Rams would be 3-1 and Lions would be 0-4. This season, a couple of teams have been ripped off in the win column. Packers nd Rams.

Middle of the season? Since when did the NFL go to an 8 game schedule? The sad thing is, if the Lions had an AVERAGE special teams unit, they’d probably be 3-1.

Hahahahahaha….if the official had operated the clock correctly the lame cats would have been 0-4.
I predict this team is going to be 9-7 at best and out of playoffs. Look for Schnartz’s head to explode.

All that sounds good but they really need to start executing better if they want to win. Something better change, the Lions just finished the easier portion of their schedule, and it only gets tougher from here.

They need to focus on doing their jobs. This includes the coaches. Statement such as these by the players gives them an excuse for poor play and rarely translate into victories.

How about playing smart? The Bears didn’t play pissed off last night, they followed the game plan and executed. Pissed off people do dumb thing, calm cerebral people execute well and increase the odds of accomplishing their goals.

They need to play with a sense of urgency. Every game they come out flat and don’t play till the last period when they are behind. Got to get Delmas and Javid back and shake up the special teams. No excuse for the effort this year. The talent is there. Come on Lions

It’s obvious that no matter if they win or lose, play clean or get penalized, etc, all the Lion haters are going to keep hating and trying to tear down.

So forget about your reputation, what people are saying, or any other outside factor. Bring back the nasty & win games, who cares about silly penalties and fines. Give all the crybabies a reason to cry rather than a chance to gloat over your misfortune of losing.

I’ll assume you’re either a Jets or Giants fan. Jets didn’t beat a team with a winning record either. Giants only beat 1 team (NE) with a winning record in the regular season. My point is, the records of the teams you beat in the regular season doesn’t matter. All that matters is getting enough wins to get to the playoffs. Anything can happen after that. Otherwise your comment insinuates one of the weaker teams in the NFL won the Super Bowl last year.

I’m on the fence about re-signing DE Cliff Avril, they could save some $money$ and use it wisely in Free Agency if they decide to be done with him. I don’t believe it would be a huge blow to the Lions letting Avril go, great player, but it’d be a smart business decision in my opinion.

They lost their X-factor on offense Jahvid Best, and their most important player in the secondary Louis Delmas (a poor man’s Polamalu & Bob Sanders). Look at their record since they lost 2 guys since midway through last season. It’s simple as that!
