Truth is, the Lions performance this year was telegraphed well in advance with all the off-season problems that demonstrate the poor quality of the organization, and many of the players.

You just don’t see such widespread character problems in a team that makes the playoffs, let alone actually wins playoff games.

The Lions have either been too willing to ignore character problems in the players they bring on, or simply blind to them. And the head coach either does not have enough respect among the players or is simply unable or unwilling to do what is necessary to turn a group of guys into a professional team.

Middle of the season? Since when did the NFL go to an 8 game schedule? The sad thing is, if the Lions had an AVERAGE special teams unit, they’d probably be 3-1.

Hahahahahaha....if the official had operated the clock correctly the lame cats would have been 0-4.
I predict this team is going to be 9-7 at best and out of playoffs. Look for Schnartz's head to explode.

Uh they weren’t even good last year. They didn’t beat a single team with a winning record, and now reality has set in that they sucked all along

__________________________

I'll assume you're either a Jets or Giants fan. Jets didn't beat a team with a winning record either. Giants only beat 1 team (NE) with a winning record in the regular season. My point is, the records of the teams you beat in the regular season doesn't matter. All that matters is getting enough wins to get to the playoffs. Anything can happen after that. Otherwise your comment insinuates one of the weaker teams in the NFL won the Super Bowl last year.

Uh they weren’t even good last year. They didn’t beat a single team with a winning record, and now reality has set in that they sucked all along

The Lions have a very good defense but on offense they have Calvin Johnson and... uhm... Calvin Johnson. Take him away and they have no offense, which is exactly what the Vikings did last week.

Lions need to stop acting like they've been there before and can just show up and perform. This team should be better than they've shown and frankly it comes down to their head coach

The defense is a sieve, and no one on their offense scares you outside of Mega.

Plus, playing a big boy schedule this season probably has something to do with it.

Oh geez... here come all the Detroit trolls. The Lions are not a good football team PERIOD. I don't care what you did last year or 30 years ago. You are what your record is, and your record Loins fans is bad. Brightside is you'll have a nice draft pick at the end of the year.

I'm on the fence about re-signing DE Cliff Avril, they could save some $money$ and use it wisely in Free Agency if they decide to be done with him. I don't believe it would be a huge blow to the Lions letting Avril go, great player, but it'd be a smart business decision in my opinion.

They lost their X-factor on offense Jahvid Best, and their most important player in the secondary Louis Delmas (a poor man's Polamalu & Bob Sanders). Look at their record since they lost 2 guys since midway through last season. It's simple as that!

The team I saw play the Vikings Sunday played exactly like that.
