There is not a more explosive player after the touch – I say touch because he takes handoffs as well. He just blows by players with speed, if Godzilla (Adrian Peterson) needs a break then Percy can fill the role.

Not totally sold on Musgrave in that he has never designed a high-power offense; however, the concept of trying to design the offense around the players talents was something that was long overdue. I’m not sold on LF yet either (get me 3-3 or better in the division this year and I will be) but I would almost take any HC over Chilly. Brad C. was by far the worst HC in Vikings History. Yes far worse than 1 year Les Steckel. Best trade the Vikings ever made (next to getting Fran back) was getting Randy Moss back because in the end it got rid of Brad C.

Wow!! All I can say is wow! Such hate between some of you Packer & fellow Viking. Fans!!!
What’s not to love about the NFC North! Rodgers is the best QB in the game, AP , the best running Back, and Harvin is Clearly the MVP of our team thus far…… A solid Rivalry for sure, but why the hate!??
Harvin has been 100% reliable, and he has never been anything but professional in the locker room, he was dramatic for what? 2 days, then Poof!! All done! Is that the worst you can come up with? I’ll take it! If not for the Media blowing it into something it wasn’t, would not even be on the Radar!
But to say, Harvin would be your 3-4 option? Come on!
I would take Jordy Nelson , and that’s it! Jennings will be gone next year, as he is as durable as a Twinkie! James Jones is 100 yard 2 TD game, then drop , drop, drop, 1 catch for 11 yards the next! Finley??? He is a baby, who looks like the “prototype” TE, but is way overrated! How many drops against the Aints???
Cobb, solid but to compare to Harvin, is just silly!
The Vikings still have a lot to prove before I am a believer but c’mon & be real, Harvin is the best return man in the game, he is tougher than nails, and runs every EVERY route, never drops passes, gets like 20 yac yards & can line up as a RB!!! I’ll take 5 of him please!

That’s ok. He doesn’t have to be. The Packers have more than two talented people on their offense. In fact, the Packers are miles better at almost every position except running back. Harvin would be third string on the Packers squad.

Sounds like a great strategy! Put all your eggs in the basket of someone who hasn’t shown that he’s able to complete a full season, either physically or emotionally.

And while you’re at it – keep on winning! We want to see Frazier stay! He’s the latest version of Denny Green, Mike Tice and Chilly (without a certain ex-Packer)… good enough to not get fired but will never get you anywhere. The vikings might pull themselves out of low gear, but will be stuck in neutral for years to come with him behind the wheel.

Actually, that’s a $25 million dollar question. And one of the main reasons why Frazier and Spielman have to go. Of course, as much as I love the winning, I try not to think about the fact that it only delays the departure of those two. Still, it’s not as bad a signing as BBerr — at least we can use Carlson to block.

Harvin is a great player but i didn’t like the pouting he was doing.The reason he did pout was because the Vikes came into camp planning on using a 2 tight-end set offensive scheme.Harvin took exception 2 this so the Vikes changed the scheme so that Harvin again was the no.1 read in the offense.Problem now is what 2 do with John Carlson.Now that’s a million dollar question?

As a Viking fan, it’s great to see this team get out of the starting gate at 3-1. I got so tired of hearing about how this season was a rebuilding year, and the best the team could hope for was 5 to 6 wins.

I realize that Vikings’ schedule is much tougher the second half of the season, and they definitely need to keep improving. However, if the younger players keep on stepping up and making plays, there’s no reason this team can’t finish above the .500 mark.

As for Harvin, this guy is just a beast on the field. I hope the offense continues to open up and get hiim more opportunities.

One more thing: I was no fan of Brad Childress as a coach, but I’ll give him credit for this much: Harvin fell several slots in the draft, and would have kept falling, if Childress hadn’t taken a chance on him back in 2009. And to his credit, Harvin has made the most of that chance.

The season he had the biggest issue with migrains and missing games was when Favre was leading them to the NFC Championship and he had the best numbers of his career, and the Vikings lost only 4 times.

So, give up on that tripe….

Ponder is playing smart—-taking what the defense allows versus trying to force passes…..ala a veteran like Romo. So, sure, we will dump passes as necessary…..the pukes do plenty of that as well.

Even more exciting than that is being in 1st, over the over-rated pukes!!!

I personally think the whole theory of “If you give a player a big contract they are no longer motivated” is mostly false.. a bunch of hooey.

It’s perceived to be a cause and affect, but I think the conclusion if false.

I think it’s far more likely that the issue is that players who have performed to extremely high levels (best in the league or their career) simply fail to reach those very high (and probably somewhat lucky) levels again.

A professor of mine once said “Correlation does not imply causation.”

You kidding, Peter? The Vikings are classier than that and have a history of hard work even after they’ve been paid. Chad Greenway just got a new contract last year and is tearing it up this season. Adrian tore his ACL/MCL and could easily take it easy, sit on that big contract and go at it half speed and collect his money. Instead he’s shooting for a 250 yard game this season. Once Percy gets paid, he will only continue to excel.

If Ponder can keep making safe plays but still take shots down field and if the defense can keep doing what its doing i dont see why the Vikings cant make it to the playoffs.
