Stats really don’t always show the entire picture. Wake had a crazy good game but so did Butler. If you had watched the full Chargers game you would instantly realize Butler played an amazing game beyond what the stat sheet showed. If the fins would have won the game I think Wake would have probably won the POW because of his stats. But stats (or really lack of stats) can be misleading sometimes especially at certain positions.

Congratulations Butler! You definitely deserved this award. Here’s to many more POWs in your future!!

Donald Butler was dominant the whole game too. Maybe he should get more sacks to convince you Silva. He did put 6 up on the board. How many did Wake get?

Uh, simple answer is the voting is done on NFL.com and anyone who watches all the NFL shows, knows the Fins get no accolades from ESPN or them. He11, the Fins could go undefeated and blow out the NFC reps in the big dance and all you would hear/read is how they had a weak schedule (or some other nonsense).

Wake deserved that, if it hadn’t been for Carpenter again, the Dolphins would have won that game.
Tannehill had 450yds against the Cardinals, and Hartline 250yds rec, what does that tell you about their defense??

To anyone else saying “Cam disappeared when it mattered most” look at the tape! Guy was literally triple teamed during that whole drive.

Cam got robbed but it’s cool, guess he’ll just have to ball out next week.

Pro football focus gave Wake a grade of +11.4. It’s one of the highest defensive grades they have EVER given lol. Not sure what Butler got since he wasn’t even noted in the game review…

Maybe to land a sack isn’t that hard. To notch 4.5 sacks and 13 QB pressures in a game doesn’t happen often (it’s the 5th highest total in a game in NFL history). I would go ahead and bet that a linebacker line with only 6 tackles, 0.5 sacks and a INT returned for a TD happens a lot more frequently. Either way great game for him, but Wake deserved the award hands down.

The Chargettes apologist are coming out in groves. If you actually took the time to actually read the article, Silva basically said Wake was more dominate. I don’t know how anyone can take that away. 4.5 sacks is nuts for any player to do in today’s NFL. He also still gave credit to Butler. He is just posting HIS opinion on the matter. That is what they are paid to do.

Sure he sacked Kolb 4.5 times, but when it came to crunch time, Wake was non existant

Butler anchored and captained a defense that did more than just sack the quarterback.

He was also in on 2 of the fumbles. He created pressure all game.

It’s a lot easier to sack the QB than returning a tipped pass to his back left shoulder and returning it to the endzone.

I feel like every Chargers post has such a negative tone to it. Even the one about the Chargers blowing out the Chiefs made it seem that the Chargers had nothing to do with the 6 turnovers.
