He does kinda resemble Tony Orlando. With all that money he’s got, he’s probably tickled more beaver with that stache than T.O.

The downside is mortgaging your future to win now by having a bunch of high priced underachievers on the roster 4-5 years from now with no hope of attracting other needed free agents. If you “speak for quite a few” of Jag fans, then your fan base is pretty dim.

It’s as if the league is saying- let’s prove how above the law we are by doing the most egregiously unethical, immoral, and possibly illegal thing we can do and get away with it. Hmm….what can we do?

Got it- we will heavily punish franchises for something they did while publicly admitting that they didn’t actually do anything wrong.

And since that would be the most obvious admission of collusion we could possibly make, we’ll get the corrupt player’s union to sign on off on it advance, completely selling their membership down the river!

See how easy it is be a massively successful conglomerate when absolutely none of the rules that apply to every other corporation in the country apply to you?

The secondary has been the Redskins Achilles heel so far this season. As a fan, I wonder what they could have done with an addition $18M on the free agent market. Perhaps they would have been able to get some DBs that can actually cover? We’ll never know but one thing we do know is this: when 30 out of 32 very rich guys collude to screw over their players, those 2 that didn’t collude will be punished. Severely!

As a Jags fan – I think I can speak for quite a few of us….. since our drafts have been SO pathetic over the least 8 years on the whole :

(Leftwhich,Reggie Williams,Matt Jones,Reggie Nelson, Derrick Harvey) all 1st rounders – NONE of whom are with us or are out of league.

To make it worse – NONE of them are part of the last 3-4 Gene Smith driven draft disasters….
