That’s where this comparison ends, friend. The Bears boast a waiting list for season tickets that is slightly less astronomical than the Packers, only because the Bears eschew the gimmick of not cutting off the waiting list after 10 years. Also, as my post above explains, compare the ticket prices. The Jags are practically giving tickets away–it couldn’t be more opposite at Soldier Field.

To all complaining about prices of $80, $90, $100+ tickets…look at Bears prices. It’s damn near cheaper to fly to Jacksonville and buy a ticket then it is to go a game at Soldier.

400 level at Soldier? Say adios to at least $175.

The Jags have had 2 years of bad attendance in 18 years but we are slammed for it. 2 years we’ve had attendance 60,000.

I have since moved to KC and the same empathy exists there (BTW…They had a blackout in 2010). Win, they will come.

Ia m not sure why people don’t quite understand that the $35 tickets are a one time special on top of the 67105 regular seats that are not tarped. The same upper deck seats next too those sections sell out for every game at $60 a ticket, still a great price by NFL standards. This is a good sign of Jacksonville overselling the allotted stadium size due to our large, college bowl game hosting stadium. I am a season ticket holder and while I am sure there will be alot of bears fans, we will still have 50-55kk Jags fans easy. The stadium is always full, but we have air conditioning and bars in the Bud Zone at the south endzone which a lot of people prefer versus their seats in the 100 degree heat and humidity. You can stand and drink and watch the game on both tvs, the jumbotron, and the field itself. If we played all our games at night time, the stadium would always be overflowing. In Jacksonville until November, its hot and rainy at game time.

Keep in mind EverBank Field WITH TARPS seats 5k MORE than Soldier Field. Attendance will be 67k Sunday, a number the Bears can’t get to because their stadium seats 62k. Just putting some facts out there.

Trap game/tarp game, meh.

Bears fans would still travel to see this game, just as the Tampa game was cheaper way to see your team, and get some sun as well.

I’d consider it a trap game if the team wasn’t so full of vets, especially on D. Only way I see them losing this game is if Cutler is bad Jay on Sunday.

And for 35 bucks a game, if you can’t get over the threshold, they need to move that team. Cubs tickets are more than that, and they really suck.

Tampa needs some damn tarps… Our tickets are only $30 a game and still can’t even hit the 86% needed to have game on local TV.

Maybe 10 percent of the Bears fan in attendance will travel there. The rest live in J-ville. It’s a fallacy that the Pack fans, or Giants fans or Duh Bears fans travel well. The truth is the franchises have been around long enough to have built a large fan base and those fans don’t live in the area the team represents.

Actually, Season ticketholders only can buy for $35.. On TicketMaster, the price is $40+++… Also high rollers can still buy club seats at $200+ each..

There are still secondary market tickets out there but these tickets undercut those prices…

Good for Jags… And it is correct that because the team opted not to take the 85% option that they could open up additional seats.. But it is additional gameday revenue..

I guess there will be no coin-toss tickets this week.. This could be the biggest Jags crowd in 7 years…. we’ll see..

Any given Sunday indeed, but unless Cutler giveth, I doubt the Jaguars will taketh away. Good luck to the Bears as well.

Nice to see some positive comments about this. I mean, even with the tarps, the Jaguars have had higher attendance at their two home games than the Bears have at theirs, though nobody doubts that the Bears could easily sell out another 20,000 seats if they were there.

Those seats (the one’s not tarped) usually sell for $60 in the upper deck so that’s a steal. From what I understand if those sell out then they’ll open up another section Friday.

Not this Bears fan…NO NFL game should be taken for granted…”any given Sunday” and all that.

Plus, I remember what the Jags did to the Ravens in prime time last year (which was fun for this MD resident to watch!)

Also recognize, it’s plenty of YOUR (Jags) fans are saying things like:
“If the same Bears team shows up that was in Dallas last week, we’ll get torn apart.”

But no – I think presumptuous trash-talk is classless, and brings about bad karma.
The pre-game chest-thumping, arrogance, and presumption is the stuff of Packer & Vikings fans, not (real) Bears fans.

But having said – it’s also hard to ignore the empirical reality of the first 4 weeks of this season for these two teams. You also have to figure the Bears are going to have an added emotional edge thanks to MJD’s ignorant tweet-smear on Cutler after the MCL tear during the NFC Championship game the year before last.

Don’t think for a second Cutler and his teammate have forgotten that insult.

In any case – best of luck to the Jags…

$35 a ticket plus $20 parking and another $100 or so for food and drink = $190 for two bad seats to watch one bad team. The game isn’t blacked out in Chi-town so I’ll stay home.
