Pierre Garçon says he won’t be 100 percent for a while

The Redskins got wide receiver Pierre Garçon back for Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers, although it was clear he wasn’t 100 percent recovered from his foot injury during the game.

Garçon’s biggest play came when he fell on a Robert Griffin III fumble in the end zone as he was held to just one catch for 20 yards in the passing game. His presence definitely seemed to help out the rest of the offense, though, and it looks like he’ll be in the lineup again this week. Garçon did caution that he doesn’t think he’ll be fully back to his old self for a little while longer.

“It’s going to take some time to feel back like my old self, like it was in training camp,” Garçon said, via Mark Maske of the Washington Post. “But it’s a process. It’s a battle. But it’s coming along.”

Garçon is practicing fully this week after being limited last week so things are definitely trending in the right direction healthwise. The same is true of tackle Trent Williams, who has also returned to a full workload after being hindered last week by a bone bruise in his knee. The Redskins will need to be as close to full strength as possible this week in order to put an end to the Falcons’ undefeated start to the season.
