Welcome to the new NFFL (National Flag Football League). This is what our game is going to turn into. The league will be putting out the new softest hits compilation for ESPN in no time! We can have the gentlest hit of the week highlights. Ray Lewis, James Harrison these guys are just too rough. We’re gonna see the “hug em and hold em” tackle. I will say this though, it can open the doors for the first female NFL…oops NFFL football players. Then again, have you seen the hits those ladies put on each other in the lingerie league? Goodell would fine them, too.

What the saints did was different, pay for injury. So now a coach can’t even talk tough to his players? So if a player says, “I’m gonna kill that guy” (as we’ve ALL said at one time or another) is he gonna be fined now also?! This is getting out of hand!!! Paying to injure is one thing, but now the nanny police want you to just talk about bunnies and puppies to fire up your players!!! Get a grip. It’s a violent sport that’s been played for a looooong time. I agree that head shots need to be taken seriously but this is just getting freaking out of hand!!!

He has nothing to apologize for, this is still football and it is still (despite Goodell’s best efforts) a contact sport. This game however is quickly turning into basketball and it makes me sick.

I’m also tired of it becoming commonplace for every ref, writer and fan to think that every big hit is a dirty hit. Sigh…

This is why we’re becoming a nation of sissies and exactly why coaches hate the media. Talk about a mountain out of a mole hill. Imagine a coach talking tough! It’s enough to make you faint isn’t it?

Some people just won’t be happy until we have two hand touch. How did these guys ever fall in love with football in the 70s or 80s when it still was, you know, a contact sport. Give this crap a rest.
