Colts coach Chuck Pagano has a treatable form of leukemia. His brother, John, who serves as Chargers defensive coordinator, said Thursday that, so far, Chuck is doing well.
“It’s been tough for my brother with what he’s going through,” Pagano said, via the Associated Press. “I want to thank everybody for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes extended to our family. It means a lot.
“Chuck is doing good. He’s a fighter, and he’s going to fight right through this. We text and talk all the time which is good, but it’s a challenge for him. That said, he’s going to overcome this. There’s no doubt about that.”
The Colts will be helping Chuck Pagano overcome his illness with a “Chuckstrong” campaign, which will raise funds for leukemia research via the sale of, among other things, T-shirts and wristbands.
Fans can send cards and notes of encouragement to Coach Pagano at PO Box 535000, Indianapolis, IN 46253. We wish him the best as he embarks on this battle.
