I think it’s great that Richardson was in attendance at the birth of his child. I think it would be even greater if he married his childrens’ mother. Call me old-fashioned, remind me that 50% of marriages end in divorce, tell me it’s none of my business if the two of them want to play house, yada yada. I get it. I still think that a stable marriage is the best situation for raising children. It makes it harder for one of the two parents to say “This is too hard, I’m outta here,” and gives them a greater incentive to stick around through the inevitable rough spots and try to work things out.
