As the Jets attempt to recommit to the “ground and pound” offense in the hopes of avoiding being grounded and pounded (again) in Week 5 by the undefeated Texans, the Jets have more reasons to try to pound it on the ground.

Tight end Dustin Keller and receiver Stephen Hill are both officially doubtful with hamstring injuries. Keller has missed three straight games with the injury; Hill didn’t play in Week Four against the 49ers.

Also doubtful are fullback John Conner (hamstring) and defensive tackle Sione Pouha (back).

Several Jets are questionable, including running back Joe McKnight (illness), cornerback Aaron Berry (ribs), linebacker Bart Scott (toe), safety Eric Smith (hip, knee), and linebacker Bryan Thomas (hamstring).

Another 14 Jets are probable, including quarterback Mark Sanchez (back), whom some would say is probable to be benched, especially with so many weapons missing. Others would say otherwise. Which makes this as good as spot as any to drop the clip of Peter King and yours truly debating the issue on Friday’s episode of Pro Football Talk.
