2013 1st

After trading all those picks, they drafted Griffin. Which means that Griffin cost them all four of those picks, as opposed to the one a draft pick usually costs.

why is it you can’t get this right?

Morris reminds me of Stephen Davis in his prime. The big difference? If memory serves, it took Davis a good 3 or 4 seasons before he was running anywhere near that tough/well.

Let me say im a skins fan and have had this arguement more then once . who did we get with the 6th pick this year because weather you swap the pick or not you still lose the pick .its three first rd picks PERIOD . 1st in 21,13 ,14 and a second in 12 count them i see 3 . but in the long run its not gonna matter cause he will be worth every one .

jwreck, you cant argue with these people. i did like that u called out that eagleswoot idiot. morris is a nice surprise for the redskins and shanahan along with allen should be commended for a couple of nice drafts and injecting some life in this franchise. by the way we swapped 1′s with the rams and traded them our 2nd in 2012/1st in 2013/1st in 2014 to select rg3. either way people want to argue this rg3 is a beast and skins look SUPERSMART for making this trade. alfred morris is icing on the cake. kudos to shanahan for starting a 6th rd rookie opening day and good for morris for making most of the opportunity. now if we could get a secondary….P.S if your the browns bet you wish you ponied up to get rg3 now instead of weeden. how old is that rookie again?

Terrel Davis was also a 6th round pick. Was just an average starter for a year or so then broke out for a 2000+ yard season and a Super Bowl MVP. Watch out for Morris in the next few years.

Of course he isn’t, that isn’t the point. Shanahan backs, with the exception of Terrell Davis and Clinton Portis, are never very talented players, they’re hard-working, average guys who work really well in Shanny’s system. Reuben Droughns, Selvin Young, Mike Bell, Tatum Bell, Travis Henry? Where are these guys now? Who knows, but they were all awesome in fantasy for at least one season.

The point is that no one is making the case that Alfred Morris is a future Hall of Famer, just that it’s kinda cool that the Redskins are leading the league in rushing through the efforts of a sixth round pick who’s surprising even the man who picked him.

And you’ve “watched every game”? Really? so “eagleswoot” chose to watch the lowly Redskins over his own team in weeks 1, 2, and 3, when their games kicked off at the same time?

Not a big fan of the maths up here, but @treydeuces (Alfred Morris… they call him Fred) was one of my training camp predictions for 900 yards this season. He’s on pace for about 1400, but RBs in Shanahan offenses don’t always last a full season.

When teams draft, they give up a pick for that player. That is how drafting works.

This is just the Redskins fans trying to make it seem like a better deal for some reason.

The Redskins did not have 2 1st rd picks. They swapped their 6th pick for the Rams 2nd pick, Then added their 2nd rd pick in this draft. You still with me?

In year 2013 Skins gave up 1st rd pick, and in 2014 Skins gave up 1st rd pick. If the Redskins had given up 3 1st’s then 2015 would have been included in the deal..

Shanahan holds onto his productive backs, in Portis` case he was in a contract year and was very outspoken in the media about how he wants to get paid and be paid as a the league’s number 1 RB which he wasn’t at the time. That was why he was traded to the Redskins, Champ Bailey in his prime AND and 2nd rd pick that was a win win for Shanahan to unload Portis at that time.

They gave up 3 1s and a 2nd for Griffin.

Technically hes right they traded 3 1′s and a 2 to get a single 1 in return. They lost a net of 2 first round picks and a 2nd though.

Runs over and through people, love watching this kid play!! I had high hopes for Helu, and who knows, maybe he can stay healthy next year (he’d better if wants a job), but this kid has already showed himself to be an absolute beast…Here’s to hoping him and RG3 have many many seasons of big success together in Washington!!

I did after they drafted Alfred.Went to you tube looked him up and was amazed at his one cut decision to hit the hole and run.Not like a bunch of RBs who dance too much or try to out run defense before they hit the hole. Also took Alfred in fantasy football and got laughed at now who’s LAUGHING NOW.!!!!!!

You would have thought Shanahan would know what he was picking. Alfred came out of FAU in Boca and was their lead running back last year. He broke the school running back record last year, and FAU won 1 game in the Sun Belt league. He was tremendous in school. Good for him, I hope it works out well, he deserves it. Just shows you don’t have to go to a well known “fancy’ school for it to work.
