Chargers go up 24-14 in third as Mathews escapes doghouse

With the record taken care of, the Saints have gone back to being the Saints.

The Chargers just went up 24-14, after an interception by Quentin Jammer off Drew Brees (which makes one consecutive game with a pick) set up a 13-yard touchdown by Ryan Mathews.

It’s a big score for Mathews, who has been trying to fight his way out of the doghouse.

The Saints give indications they can still move the ball. But they can’t stop anyone from doing same.

Unless Philip Rivers has a meltdown he’s giving no indication of having, Brees may have to break more records to keep this going.

Everyone is surprised he didn’t get hurt diving into the end zone.

It’s Norv Turner, he’ll find a way to lose.

@tdrundmc……..considering McGlass is second only to CJ-2K for bust of the year….keep talking Scooter. Enjoy the basement.

My question for Norv would be why do you insist on keeping your best most explosive running back, Ryan Matthews, on the sidelines for half the game? Matthews was killing the Saints when given the chance but come the 4th quarter Norv decides it’s time for a heavy dose of Ronnie freaking Brown.

The Saints have the worst run defense in the NFL and the Chargers run the ball 18 times. Dumb.
