The Browns’ chances of slowing or stopping the Giants’ 27-3 run to close out the first half are a little bit worse thanks to some injury news from team’s locker room.

Middle linebacker D’Qwell Jackson will not return to the game after suffering a head injury. Jackson was injured on an Ahmad Bradshaw run just before the two minute warning in the second quarter.

He had five tackles before getting hurt and his absence will leave the visitors without one of their best defensive players when a strong defensive performance is just what the Browns are going to need to recover from a 27-17 halftime deficit at the Meadowlands. It doesn’t help that their best defensive player, cornerback Joe Haden, is still serving his suspension. Dimitri Patterson and Buster Skrine each made some decent plays in the first half, but the Giants still threw for 179 yards in the first two quarters.

Most of all, though, it will help if the Browns hold onto the ball after successive turnovers helped hand the Browns 14 points and the lead.
