Glazer: Jets will use Tebow a lot more

Reuters

Though it’s unclear when or if Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will be benched for Tim Tebow, Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Jets will use Tebow a lot more on Monday night against the Texans.

Then again, the Jets couldn’t use him less.  Through four games, he has thrown the ball once and he has nine rushing attempts.

Glazer says that Tebow has gotten more practice time this week, which makes sense given the injuries to the receivers and the lack of a running game.

If Tebow can make the offense go, look for him to be used even more moving forward.

  1. It can’t hurt. Just look at Sanchez’ numbers the last couple of games, passing wise they are barely better than anything Tebow did last season. And rushing, no comparison between the two.

  2. Somebody needs to sell tickets. When you’re in the biggest market and you’ve got 15,000 empty seats, that’s a pretty pathetic fan base. But what do you expect from an organization that had their head coach phone fans and beg them to show up and make noise.

  3. -Jets deny 12,000 ticket not sold.
-Jets front office brainstorm on how two sell 12k tickets by tomorrow.
-Leak out info on Sunday that Tebow will play more.
(Brilliant business marketing). Get the Tebow followers to buly tickets.
-Now can they brainstorm on finding quality football players and a head coach?

  4. Keep one of these two as the back-up, trade or cut the one left over and have Greg McElroy as the starter and I’ll bet the Jets would do better on offense. Both Sanchez and Tebow have proven their not top quality QB’s in the NFL. Case closed.

  5. For the jets I don’t think you sit Sanchez. I would play Tebow and Sanchez together Tebow at the slot or tailback. Tebow is not the answer on a team with no receivers.

  6. Note to Tebowmaniacs: Going over the head of your coach and demanding the starting qb get benched so you can play is neither humble nor team-first. Its narcissistic and selfish. And apparently effective. Go Texans!

I agree, I like the kid McElroy but they have no offensive weapons for him to succeed with either. It’s a complete mess of a roster
