what are you trying to get at anyway by claiming all the giants players are “blaming adderall” as the excuse for being suspended? are you trying to claim the giants are coaching their players to use this excuse to save face for the organization?

what isn’t mentioned in the article is “Hill, who signed with the team after a tryout at the rookie minicamp in May, said in a statement through the Giants that he received a doctor’s prescription for Adderall before signing with the team.” its hard to fault the guy for something he took BEFORE he was even in the league.

Adderall is straight up speed and that’s why it draws attention. I know it’s a legitimate treatment for ADHD, but it’s a pure amphetamine, unlike Concerta and that makes it a red flag for someone without a paper trail. It’s just like the old guys taking greenies.

Legal, prescribed adderall has gotten more difficult to obtain over the past year or so from pharmacies. I think the rash of NFL players getting caught using it may explain it….

This is nothing more than the latest excuse from the users. I’m sure there are players who legitimately use adderall and that is exactly why the dopers claim that was the substance. It is a PR ploy for sympathy for some of these guys. The league cannot say what the substance was so the player says whatever. I would bet that any legit user of that drug has a history in their records as ADD/ADHD is not normally something obtained or diagnosed post adolescene. The others are either using the drug for some kind of an advantage, or in a silly attempt to mask something else, or are just claiming adderall (without using it at all) to save face. No telling which one it is.

Once again the NFL has their head squarely up their arse! Adderall in no way qualifies as a PED, its ridiculous. However, I see that a whole range of amphetamines are also banned and that would catch Adderall. NFL players are also prohibited from taking Sudafed and Actifed. LOL

Look, if the Giants lose this weekend, I doubt it’s because their 3rd string Safety was suspended. And if the Giants win, Giants fans don’t want to hear about the boo-boo Alex Smith has on his finger…or the fact that your KR was missing so a back up took his place (last years excuse).

The NFL considers Adderall a performance-enhancing substance, but it allows players to take it if they go through the proper channels and can demonstrate a medical need to use it. The problem is that many players seem to be misinformed about what the proper channels are for approval.

It’s funny every thinks SF will just run over the SB champs. Anyone that follows us no matter rival or fan know this is the type of game the Giants usually win. It’s much like the NE regular season game last year. When counted out the Gmen show up strong!

Eli with the protection he’s getting from an improved OL can score against anyone. The running game is also improved. SF has a great front 7 but if given time thier DBs are not great in coverage (they tackle well though). SF plays much differently from ahead. When they played from behind against Minn they were a different team. SF is a quality team but people continually underestimate the Giants.

I am 46 and have the “joy” of bigtime adhd still at my age. Nothing has worked drug wise so i just try to be quiet and focus using my brain and hockey, football and 2 hole in one’s in golf , I can do just fine. I wouldn’t wish this crap on anybody. It is a medical CONDITION not a mental illness.

Clearly the prescription was filled and verified, NOT STEROIDS or anything of the sort. The NFL reminds me of my last job where they expected you to know all protocols, while making them up on the fly and not informing you — yet expected everyone to know each of them and abide fully.
