The same Peyton Manning that outplayed Brady in that game (more yards and TD’s). Brady did not run the ball for 19 yards on a 3rd and 17. Yeah the broncos are 2-3down but remember, manning was shaking off rust for the first three weeks, look what the other 3 afc west QBs, theyre not playing so hot neither in fact, manning is the best in the west.

Not clear what you mean best winning % in the league? If you mean Pats this year, it’s not, at 3-2.
The previous guy said : “Winning the AFC West this year is about as impressive as an NFL team winning the Pac-10.”
I said that AFC East is easier … with 6 games against Bills, Jets, and Dolphins, it is easier. I did not say Pats were bad. But it’s easier to play in AFC east. As a matter of fact, Pats dropped two games against tough defenses (I know that the AZ offense is missing).

Manning looked great, there were a couple fumbles, a couple somewhat lucky 3rd down conversions by the Pats, and Broncos were moving the ball up and down the field pretty well when they weren’t killing their own drives with drops and fumbles.

Champ is right, though, the Patriots offense punked the Denver D. That is the quickest to the line / snapping the ball I’ve EVER seen that Pats, even in those old games against the Colts.

Final score could have been 38-35… lots of O.

The defense has to be last in the league on third down efficiency. The front 7 is pathetic, save Von Miller who looks even better than last year. By contrast, Dumervil must be injured or has left the building as he has looked pathetic.

The schedule-makers dealt Denver 4 playoff teams in the first 7 weeks but if yesterday was a “measurement” game, they didn’t measure up.

All tackles that are made have the ball carrier falling forward for a few extra yards. They definitely do not swarm to the ball and bowl over anybody. In fact, every ball carrier usually breaks several tackles on their way to a nice gain +2. We actually have people in the Denver media that picked this group to go 12-4 and 11-5 this season!

Not saying I’m “sold” on the Pats D either yet but balanced offenses give all defenses trouble. That’s why I like that the Pats finally HAVE one. Their being one dimensional on offense has cost them 2 SBs.

Not many teams will beat the Pats when they lose the turnover battle. Only bright spot on Denver’s D is Von Miller. Broncos need to get more good players on D because Von is an absolute force that teams have to plan for.

This loss should be pinned on Willis the Choke Artist McGahee. I can remember plenty of times when the Ravens narrowly won or loss games because of a critical turnovers by McGahee. Execution has been an issue. They still need some work on their 4 minute offense though. As does the defense need work on closing games out. This is a very young team and it looks promising that they will get better as the year goes on.
