Jake Locker out again this week

The Titans have a quick turnaround for their Thursday nighter against the Steelers and it is going to be too quick for them to get quarterback Jake Locker back in the lineup.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean passes along word from Titans coach Mike Munchak that Matt Hasselbeck will get a second straight start when Pittsburgh rolls into LP Field. Locker separated his left (non-throwing) shoulder for the second time this season in the Week Four loss to the Texans and will need a little more time to recover before he can back on the field. Hasselbeck completed 26-of-43 passes for 200 yards in Sunday’s 30-7 loss to the Vikings before Rusty Smith finished out the fourth blowout loss in the last five weeks for the Titans.

There was some better injury news on other fronts. Munchak said that running back Javon Ringer won’t be lost for the season as a result of a left knee injury that forced him to be carted off the field on Sunday. Ringer should miss four to six weeks as a result of a torn MCL.

Munchak also said that he expects Kenny Britt to play this week. Britt played a limited role after being a game-time decision thanks to an ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week before the matchup with the Vikings.
