In other news, Norv, Mathews isn't the problem, you are, and have been for 5 years now!

The ref won the game for the Saints, the Chargers had the game in the bag until the ref made at least three bad calls.
Maybe tv shows too much detail, but I saw three ignored pass interference calls.
The game was stolen, go chargers I am staying in the bandwagon til the playoffs and beyond.

Norv Turner is an absolute moron. The Chargers could have won that game if they would have given the ball to Mathews more. The Saints could not stop him. He was averaging 10 yards a carry and they kept bringing in Ronnie "washed-up" Brown. Unbelievable. Sometimes coaches think they know more than anyone else and they miss the obvious. Very Parcells like.

"I can’t remember what game I was watching, but there was obvious pass interference that wasn’t called. I mean on the replay the wr’s arm was being pinned to his side by the cb and nothing, no call."

The game you're thinking of was....this game.

Rivers threw to Floyd on the right hash mark, Floyd jumped up to shield off the defender and catch it in his gut, and the defender pinned Floyd's right arm to his side. Floyd had to try to catch it with only his left against his gut. The ball got knocked into the air, and the Saints had an easy pick.

Come on now we dont want to sound like a bunch of whiney Packers fans.

That being said at least one major site acknowledged the issue or poor officiating in last nights game, which is a minor miracle these days unless the Packers are involved.

Its tough when it happens to any team but remember its only the end of the world when it happens to the Packers or Steelers.

Hutch I feel your pain, but two things lost us this game, a bad decision by our rookie, and Norv's inability to get his offense to put points on the board in the 4th quarter-s. What happened to the articles bashing the refs? We waited 3 weeks for the replacements to blow some calls late in a game that directly impacted the outcome and yesterday we had a phantom OPI followed by a phantom hold to clinch a win for the Saints. Yet no mention on any website? Why aren’t we holding these refs to a higher standard?

This week was as bad as any week officiated by the replacements and not a single article. KC wins without that joke of a non fumble on Flacco, no mention, Miami wins despite the refs best efforts to blow it for them, no mention.

All these guys do is go about making mind blowingly bad calls a little faster.

-----------------------------
I agree, but you knew it was going to be this way. I can't remember what game I was watching, but there was obvious pass interference that wasn't called. I mean on the replay the wr's arm was being pinned to his side by the cb and nothing, no call. The commentators actually DEFENDED the refs for not making the call. Had it been the replacements that missed it we'd have had to listen to 20 minutes of their indignation that these horrible people couldn't get an obvious call correct. Then get on here and read 15 stories about how the replacements were D grade refs and called the wrong jersey number when they did make a call.

The choice to give so many carries to Battle/Brown last night was unbelievably stupid. While Battle and Brown didn't make any real obvious mistakes, you never know what may have happen on some of those plays if their best player had the ball. That Mathews TD would have been a 4 or 5 yd gain for Battle or Brown. Who knows which of the other short gains Mathews would have broke. His pass protection was excellent as well. San Diego deserved to loose.

The choice to give so many carries to Battle/Brown last night was unbelievably stupid. While Battle and Brown didn’t make any real obvious mistakes, you never know what may have happen on some of those plays if their best player had the ball. That Mathews TD would have been a 4 or 5 yd gain for Battle or Brown. Who knows which of the other short gains Mathews would have broke. His pass protection was excellent as well. San Diego deserved to loose.

What happened to the articles bashing the refs? We waited 3 weeks for the replacements to blow some calls late in a game that directly impacted the outcome and yesterday we had a phantom OPI followed by a phantom hold to clinch a win for the Saints. Yet no mention on any website? Why aren't we holding these refs to a higher standard?

This week was as bad as any week officiated by the replacements and not a single article. KC wins without that joke of a non fumble on Flacco, no mention, Miami wins despite the refs best efforts to blow it for them, no mention.

All these guys do is go about making mind blowingly bad calls a little faster.

Unbelievable that Turner moved away from Mathews in the second half. Especially considering he was averaging about 8 yards per touch.

Why is this guy our coach, again?

Almost everytime Mathews touched the ball last night he got 10+ yard and the Chargers kept giving it to Ronnie Brown and Jackie Battle. They deserved to lose.
I get making a point about the fumbling but it's time to help him with it and move on. He is easily the best player on SD

Watching Jackie battle run is like watching Ryan Matthews run with one of those training parachutes strapped to his back. Turner had no choice. Fumbles cost games, but so does stubbornly keeping your best player on the sidelines.
