“As a Patriot fan I have no doubt Wes was speaking the truth in his “joke”. Was ridiculous how the Patriots were marginalizing Welker as the beginning of the season. Only injuries to other receivers changed that dynamic.
Wes knows he’s gone next year. Wes also knows he’s Brady’s favorite receiver and one of the most productive players at his position in the league.
Any “action” Belichick would take against him would reflect badly on Belichick.

We have seen that speaking to the media doesn’t really do anyone favors in New England, however, especially mentions of the hooded one. I think he hurt himself as much as he helped himself, with that one.

Just hope he can get back to the big game and redeem himself for the drop that pretty much cost us the Super Bowl (Note: Eli may still have had time to win it, but the odds of the Patriots winning would have increased dramatically with that 1st down).

Here’s a clue for you. Welker is a jokester. He has a great sense of humor. He made a joke. That was it. A joke. Nothing more.

They were all spouting off conspiracy theories after two games about why Welker wasn’t a bigger part of the offense.

Please, oh please don’t think that Welker can’t catch balls and find success with a Manning or a Rodgers. Wes will have his pick of teams. His success and precise routes will open up the door at any team he chooses. And no, you do NOT have another Welker on that team.

Whether he was poking fun at the media for the big whoha they made about the first two weeks and his lack of use, or if he was poking at BB, I’m not sure it matters. Cause I don’t think Wes cares.

I think Wes knows he’s gone. I think he also knows NE is better with him there. I think he also knows he will be employed pretty much anywhere he wants. He sounds like an extremely confident guy that knows his future is set, with or without BB.

Welkers comments about Rex, while funny and onpoint, were unnecessary fodder for the media and the Jets – the exact opposite of what Belichick always preaches.

Welker is always having a joke at the expense of his own team-mates – Brady especially (who does his best to provide him with material every offseason, it seems) – poking the Boss is fine (Matt Light used to do it all the time) because its not directed outside the organisation.

Especially cause that BS started 2 games into the season…. he just started slow, but the Boston media conspiracy ring was out in full force.

This was just a nod to the over-reaction.

I saw his comment and he was smiling and winking. Yes, there is an element of truth to him wanting to stick it in Bill’s face but Belichick also lit a fire under his diminutive slot receiver. Isn’t that what good coaches do?
