So Hargrove isn't being punished for the bounty program, just for lying to the NFL investigators? And that alone is worth seven games, while two actual participants get one and four, respectively? Sorry, Commissioner, that's just pathetic.

Basically, Goddell is admitting that it _wasn't_ Hargrove's voice on the video asking for payment for the Favre injury, which was by far the most significant accusation against him -- but left him with almost the same suspension anyway.

Well, it should be interesting to see what happens. His wording is definitely not mentioning anything that has to do with salary cap issues.

Not to mention, it seems that he showed more evidence in these letters than he did during the beginning parts of the whole fiasco.

I think Fujita will probably just take it. I think Hargrove probably will as well. They wouldn't really be that affected. In his letter to Fujita, he basically said that he wasn't part, but he didn't do his part to stop it. Not much to defend there.

Vilma and Smith I think are cooked.

"I have personally met with both men and have had an opportunity to assess their credibility. I am not persuaded by any suggestion that either Mr. Williams or Mr. Cerullo had an incentive to testify falsely, under penalty of perjury, about such conduct by you or by any other player."

---Besides the fact that one got fired and the other wants you to give him his job back?

That's some pretty damning evidence right there. The players need to man up and accept their suspensions, especially now that they've admitted that a bounty program was in place.

Geez Goodell, you must be purposely trying to piss the judge off. You just took conversation from players trying to convince you it wasn't a bounty system , where they admitted to a pay for performance incentive program and twisted it to say they admitted to a bounty system. I hope every single one of them sues you now.
