After Monday night’s game against the Jets, the Texans feared that linebacker Brian Cushing suffered a torn ACL.
An MRI has confirmed those fears.
A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that Cushing’s ACL is indeed torn. It means that he’ll need season-ending surgery to repair it, and that he’ll miss the rest of the season.
As James Palmer of CSNHouston.com explained during an appearance on today’s PFT Live, Cushing is the most important member of the Texans’ defense. Palmer said that defensive coordinator Wade Phillips recently raved about Cushing, explaining that Cushing means even more to the unit than defensive end J.J. Watt.This video is no longer available.
