Ruud in actuality will not start and will be most likely be 3rd string behind Darryl Sharpton once he comes off the PUP list next week. Right now the Texans are a little thin at MLB depth and hes probably the best guy out on the street right now.

Would we rather Navarro Bowman or Ray Lewis, obviously, but they are not available. Its a bad situation and Rick Smith is doing the best he can.

I imagine that either Keyshawn Martin or Justin Forsett will take over return duties?

All he needs is a work ethic and the ability to do 1 thing good. Wade will figure out what it is and have him do it.

Timmy Dobbins is the starter and the next man up. He will do fine!

Ruud is a good locker room guy and all, but…this makes his fifth team in the last two years?

That’s not good. Texans can’t really afford to be choosy since it’s not like there’s a ton of great options sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. But I sure wouldn’t be expecting much out of this signing.

He’s not starting, he was brought in to be a veteran backup to Dobbins and James.

I wish Holliday luck, but he just was hurting the team a lot more than helping. He didn’t return very well, and he made bad decisions.

LB Barrett Ruud when he was with the Titans got pushed around at the point of attack and when Colin McCarthy replaced him and played better he became expendable, also he was liability in coverage when he was said to be great in that area.

He might have been “productive,” but he was never effective. Ruud was an expert at racking up tackles 5 yards after he attached himself to a runner.
