When the Patriots got punished they were not happy but after their initial comments you didn’t hear one word. They didn’t let it become a distraction and they took out their frustrations on the field."

People need to stop comparing the Patriots' punishment to the Saints'. Did the Patriots lose their SB-winning coach for even one game? No. They got a slap on the wrist in comparison. You can't even begin to compare what the two franchises were put through because it's not even in the same stratosphere.

Seriously? You wear a Championship ring that was achieved through illegal means. These suspensions are a mere slap on the wrist. To show any class the right thing to do would be to issue a public apology to the teams and players you and your team-mates intentionally injured. The gentlemanly thing would be to donate your Superbowl bonus monies to a youth football group or to one of the many charities established for players injured on the field at the high school or college level. Instead you whine that "it's not fair that we're being punished for what we did"...really? Shame on you and your colleagues in the Saints organization for being the very worst example for our youth who love the sport. You are right about one thing, Goodell mishandled this. He ought to have inflicted a far harsher penalty.

The NFL and the refs conspired to bring the Saints a title and now it’s coming back to bite the hand that feed them. I bet the league is now regretting that decision. The Refs are the reason the Saints beat the Vikings not the bounties.
--------------------
Let's see, the league that could not possibly be lying about their evidence against the Saints must be lying about a conspiracy to allow the Saints to win the Super Bowl, right? And you, of course, know of some evidence of this grand conspiracy, other than the testimony of all your loser Viking fan friends who agree with you? I am sure Favre's interceptions and Peterson's 33 fumbles could have had nothing to do with the Vikings losing, could it?

The NFL and the refs conspired to bring the Saints a title and now it’s coming back to bite the hand that feed them. I bet the league is now regretting that decision. The Refs are the reason the Saints beat the Vikings not the bounties. The thing is that Williams and Payton both admitted the bounty system exists, it is a fact that can not be disputed. The players going on and on to deny it just puts into question their personal morals and reliability. As Shakespeare would say, THY PROTESTETH TOO MUCH. Meaning they deny it so emphatically they must be guilty. Like a child caught stealing cookies from the cookie jar and denying it with crumbs all over their fat faces.
====================================
sooo...the vikes had nooothing to do with that lost. lets just focus on what happened BEFORE what you are claiming since that occurred during overtime. During the course of quarters one thru four the vikes fumbled multiple times...and during the last drive in regulation your team had 12 men on the field, then your quarterback threw a pass your pop warner coach tell you not to throw. To add insult to injury if you look at that play on film... your quarterback could have ran for atleast 10 yards and get out of bounds. Soooo PLEASE I know you only want to focus on overtime but your team even after multiple turnovers...12 men on the field penalty could have won it in regulation... but didn't.

The irony is that Roger Goodell has personally done more to harm professional football than any of the players or coaches being accused of involvement in "Bounty Gate."

The average fan isn't as upset about the fact that an idiot coach and a few idiot players messed up as they are about:

1) The fact that nearly a quarter of the games this season were run by the unqualified and sometimes inept "replacement refs" - all because Roger Goodell decided to lock them out.

2) The fact that we almost missed games last season because of the lockout saga.

3) The fact that Goodell just won't leave a good product alone. Football was just fine before Sir Roger came into town. But now we've got to try to have expansion into the UK - something the teams don't want. An 18-game season. Pink ribbons on the players. Massive fines for franchises for violating the spirit of "unwritten rules."

Goodell is a disaster.

When did Brees become such a pretentious, bellyaching whiner? Dude, seriously. Your team is 1-4. Stop trying to be a media opportunist worrying about whether or not a coach, who signed a sworn statement saying it happened, is present at another teams stadium to watch you pad your stats while your team doesn't make it to another Super Bowl and might not even make it to the playoffs. You're defending guys who would sell you out in a New York minuet if it meant getting out of being suspended.

Hey RUAHORNH8R Sean Payton has never admitted to any bounty nor has any of the Saints players or coaches. To the contrary they have all denied it. You need to get your facts straight before spouting off. What Payton, owner Tom Benson, Joe Vitt and many many others have said is that the NFL twisted their testimony and turned pay for performance into some type of bounty. Every team has pay for performance pools. You are being totally ignorant when you post things that you know nothing about.

Anyone who thinks Brees is wrong or crazy should simply read the story that came out today in regards to Vikings player Jimmy Kennedy and his supposed testimony that he knew there was a bounty on Farve and that a Saints player gave him that information. The NFL states that "Our office promptly investigated this matter. We interviewed Coach Childress and Mr. Kennedy” and they used that testimony as evidence. There is only one problem. Kennedy says he NEVER spoke to anyone with the NFL or anyone outside the NFL and that he never heard of any bounty. The NFL is just making up stuff as they go along. Evidence time and time again has been proven wrong and much of it just plain made up. Not only is Brees showing guts by standing up to them but he is right in what he is saying.

Funny how defending yourself or the people around you is considered whining. What has Brees done to upset so many people? Won a Super Bowl? Spoke out for the players during the lockout? Helped a major U.S. city recover from one of the worst natural disasters in history?

And for the idiots who keep saying "Sean Payton didn't fight it...blah blah blah" He couldn't fight it! There's no coaches union. The coaches work for the teams/NFL. Oh and he did speak out against it as much has he could and he appealed.

So if you're so sick of the story or the Saints...or Brees. Stop clicking the stories! Keep it moving. But if you choose to say something, at least know what you're talking about.
