the Steelers as usual playing down to the competition again, got to question Tomlins decision to let Suisham kick a 54 yder. did he really think he was going to make that kick knowing if he didnt he was going to give the Titans the ball at midfield basically giving them the gm.. this gm is a reflection of the HC not having his team ready to play.

I’m a diehard Tennessee Titans fan. I am very happy that the Titans defeated the Steelers, and I am glad all the Steelers fans are all moaning and groaning over the loss because of all the many years these Steelers fans gloated.

The Browns need to focus on winning one game….

I hope the Titans start Matt Hasselbeck at Quarterback next week, sticking with the hot hand at QB…

Not very good coaching on Steelers part , this looks like a 7 and 9 team at best .

How can that many injuries not seriously be considered a major hindrance ? One or two injuries maybe – but half a dozen ? No team can successfully absorb that quantity in that short period of time and maintain significant competitiveness , they had tight ends playing guard and tackle for Pete’s sake !
Considering the amount of injuries that occured in the time span of a few hours and being on the road and that they still lost in the final seconds on a FG indicates the players were playing to overcoming the significant injury, I can’t say the same for the coaching staff.

You make an excellent point about teams overcoming adversities. In 2010, the Steelers managed to get off to a 3-1 start even without The Almighty Ben.
But please keep in mind that it’s not the Steelers themselves making excuses but rather their fans and the Pittsburgh media, most of whom don’t know if a football is stuffed or puffed.
It’s nearly impossible to be a Steelers follower … only because of the Roethlisberger-obsessed fans and cheerleading media.
I just don’t think I can take another nationally-televised sit-down interview with Roethlisberger telling the world that he’s a “fierce competitor and winner.”
Boring.

Many teams in the past have overcome their injuries to win games and make the playoffs. Hell, even win the Super Bowl. Teams should try to overcome them, not hide behind them and make excuses when they don’t win.

It’s hard to believe the Steelers beat the Eagles last week and then lose to the Titans who were manhandled by the Vikings.

The Eagles only stay in games because their pass rush somehow makes timely plays in the backfield. Their LBs and DBs are nothing special, but that’s the only reason the Eagles are winning these close, low-scoring games. Offensively, they’re just as unbalanced and putrid as the Steelers have shown in half their games this year.

However, never underestimate rivalry games. The Steelers were amped up Sunday. The Eagles blew their entire roll to beat the Giants. Wouldn’t surprise me if the Eagles lost to a half of one-dimensional Lions team Sunday.

Congrats to the Titans, they manned up and hung tough whereas the Steelers looked tired and unmotivated all night. As several others have said, maybe it’s time to accept that they’re just not that good this year… I’m thinking even 9-7 is optimistic at this point, maybe 8-8? The difference is I’m still a fan and still support them 100%. When you have a team with 70+ years of history behind it, you’re going to have to deal with down years. Just comes with having a great history/tradition/legacy. Ratbird trolls enjoy it while you can because you know full well your time is running short.

Congrats to Titans fans for getting a gritty win. I don’t care how teams played in the past, these are professional teams and are capable of playing well in any given game. When you give up a one yard TD and a FG bounces through for 10 points, it sure impacts the outcome. But that is not why they lost. The defense has done it (or has NOT done it) again. Forget the injuries excuse. They did not make the big stops. Taylor was awful. Easy interceptions were dropped. Harrison gives up the 25 yarder at the end. But maybe worse was Tomlin trying a 54 yard FG with the game tied. The miss gave the Titans a short field. Either let Ben (one of the best and having a pretty good game) try to make a play or punt and go for OT. This one and the Raiders loss may hurt at the end of the season.

Tomlin needs to get himself and this team back to basics. So many injuries on our own O-line because fatty Marcus Gilbert won’t BEND HIS KNEES…he tries to stiff arm every block, gets knocked on his fat ass, and rolls our linemen’s knees with him when he goes.

Can someone please explain to Keenan Lewis exactly what he’s supposed to be doing out there because I truly don’t think he knows…oh, and it probably shouldn’t be Ike who tells him, ’cause while he may know what to do, he just can’t execute. He got beat every down last night.

Starting to think Tomlin got a lot of undeserved credit these last few years…it was the vets leading the team and now they’re gone Mike isn’t replacing them for discipline and motivation.

We’re playing this badly and I can’t even blame my favorite punching bag Big Ben…gonna be a very long season for the black & gold.

Frustrated Steeler fan here.

The game started at 2AM local time for me, so I planned on watching the game with my son later this weekend.

We will watch, but I’m forced to warn him that this will be his first horror film. Probably have to watch in the morning so he’ll be able to fall asleep by nightfall.
