Officiating talk on today’s PFT Live

The replacement refs are gone, but questions about the officiating remain. So it’s a good thing we’ve got former NFL official and NBC officiating consultant Jim Daopoulos on call.

Daopoulos will join Mike Florio once again on Pro Football Talk Live today to discuss the rules-related issues that have surfaced this week, including Matt Slauson’s block on Brian Cushing, which ended Cushing’s season and which was — depending on your point of view — either an illegal cheap shot or an unfortunate consequence of a legal block. Daopoulos will weigh in with his expert opinion on the matter.

Florio will also be taking calls and answering Twitter questions from PFT Planet.

You can watch it all live at noon ET.

I’m not a Texans fan but I hate to see a player like Cushing hurt like this. If it was a legal block then the rules need to be changed. It wasn’t intentional to injure him but the rules are too offense friendly. Defensive players need some protection as well.
