No dude, you are the fool. I watched Garçon drop balls for 3 years. Reggie is 33 and a workout freak. Garçon has missed more games this season than Reggie missed in his entire career. Reggie has 4 more good years. Garçon will be out of the league by then due to drops and injuries.

This is not a choice between a 28 year old Pierre Garcon or a 28 year old Reggie Wayne, this is a choice between a young, talented player, who can help a rookie quarterback adjust to the game, while simultaneously growing and developing alongside him, and a still-talented older veteran who is a staple of his city and his franchise, but can’t possibly have that many seasons left in him.

Garcon may be inconsistent, but he’s still a talented player entering his prime. The Redskins have spent two decades picking up superstars in the twilight of their careers, and Washington had to start doing things differently. Reggie Wayne is having an amazing season, and even if he plays for five more years and puts up better numbers than Garcon in each of those years, paying Garcon instead of Wayne was still worth it, as it represents a culture shift in DC: trying to rebuild and go younger; rather than trying to “win now” every year with too little talent.

Additionally, the argument that the Colts paid Wayne less to stay in Indy is not a valid one, as the Colts are not only getting a hometown discount, but a 33-year-old receiver will never make as much as an athletic 28-year-old rising star, facts are facts.

Anyway, I agree with the guy (to a lesser extent) that said RGIII is absolutely going to not be as aggressive in his scrambles/runs. He said as much himself, that he has to be “smarter”. I wouldn’t look for that extra yard out of him this Sunday. Then again, I’d probably hit the deck too if Chad Greenway was bearing down on me.

RGIII is in for a long day against that Vikings D.

Hard to understand the proportions here. Washington has very good offense while the Vikings have a very good defense. It’s literally the seventh best offense in the NFL (3rd best until Griffin was knocked out against Atlanta) playing against the seventh best defense in the NFL. Any way you slice it, this looks like a very close, very exciting game, and nobody should be predicting a blowout for either side.

Or the Vikings D will be in for along day against RGIII. Dude has played so consistent and has learned very very quick. I mean he never played in the pocket and has never had a playbook in his career, and he’s already showing he’s a great pocket passer. Vikings D is going to get rocked by RGIII and Alfred Morris. So you better hope that offense can put up 30-40 points against the Skins D.
