The vitriol is hilarious.
Ray Lewis is an all time great in the sport,ridiculously wealthy beyond what any of his detractors on this web blog can hope to attain,and an inspiration to thousands of young men both in and outside of football. The phrase “let he who is without sin cast the first stone” applies here. If more convicts did as much as Ray to keep others from making the same mistakes there’d be a lot less convicts.

So you make the point that Flacco is arrogant because he hasn’t won anything and then qualify that he is #2 arrogant guy by comparing him to Roethlisberger who has been to 3 Superbowls and won 2 of them… Don’t see the logic.

His play reminds me of when Don Shula chose to keep the late, great, Bob Matheson one more year when it was obvious he wasn’t the same player any more and it cost the Dolphins another shot at a Superbowl.

We could no longer stop the run because he was too slow at the point of attack. Ray is starting to show that now. Bob wasn’t the only dinosaur Shoe’s kept on the team but by doing so he let at least one promising rookie linebacker go who ended up going to the Pro Bowl a few years later, Joel Williams, I’m sure the Falcons are glad of that move even today.

But the hardest thing for a warrior to realize, is when it is time to hang up the helmet, because let’s face it, the cleats go in the bottom of the locker not on a hook.

Ok Folks let’s get it right please. He was charged with obstruction of murder, he wasn’t EVER charged with murder. Not a Ravens fan but I am tired of the misinformation regarding it. Lewis is a great football player not as great as he once was though. This is purely a football reference here in this article.

I hope Ray gets at least one more shot at a Superbowl, but I also expect him to “know when it’s time” and go out with his pride intact. Ray personifies the intensity and physicality of football. I’m glad I’ve been around to see his career and value what he brings to the game.
