As a Browns fan, I am just absolutely astonished that this team can stay so bad for so long. The Houston Texans are younger than the expansion Browns; the Texans went from bad team to mediocre team to promising team to powerhouse team over the years, while the Browns have gone from bad team to worse team to pathetic team to hopeless team. I just don't see how you manage to do that in a league that has a salary cap, free agency and a player draft. After 14 years of "building," they're still basically a first-year expansion team. Anybody out there believe in curses? Voodoo? Poisoned water at the Berea facility? I'm looking for explanations here.

I’m going to keep saying this on every Browns’ article until ownership finally reads it and gives in. Hire Brian Billick and draft Matt Barkley.

This comes from a Colts fan that is tired of always watching Cleveland lose. Unless of course they’re playing the Colts.
**************************************************
Brian Billick?

The same Brian Billick that went to the Ravens known as an "offensive guru" and produced one of the worst offenses of all time?

THAT Brian Billick?

I’m a life long Browns fan. Until an owner (hopefully Haslam) understands that this is an expansion team & stops trying to recreate the old Browns, nothing will work. I hope Haslam makes the changes necessary:
New Uniforms (Brown helmet specifically)
Retractable Roof
Cheerleaders
A HC that actually has won an NFL Playoff Game
Continuity – We can’t play musical personnel & expect to develop draftees that don’t stay more than 2 seasons!

Shurmur hasn’t got the slightest idea of how to win a game at this level. How the hell is he going to coach kids & teach them how to?

-------------------------------------------------

Leave the helmet alone. We paid dearly to retain our history. You may not cherish the Orange and Brown and the lack of logo, but I for one do. Uniform design could work, done smartly, but the orange helmet without logo is a timeless design. It says BROWNS. it doesnt need more.

I'm not sure about a roof. I was against it at all but thee most recent concept, that of a geodesic dome to enclose the stadium...is intriguing. It would be very different, and would still allow an open air stadium feel, while shielding from the weather. But its our weather that makes us who we are.

Cheerleaders...a nice diversion but so what? Win...thats the best way to keep spirit going. The Dawg Pound is the best because we already know how to cheer.

I think Shurmur is untested but so far I havent seen what I would call potential. Of course he hasnt had a lot to coach. But to hire someone who has been down the road isnt always the best idea. New blood is not a bad thing.

Continuity you hit right square. We cannot keep changing our staff and hope to get things going.

Give Shurmur and Heckert a chance. I can see Holmgren going, but give him his due...he brought Heckert here and that alone was enough to build legacy.

The Browns are coming. Let them keep coming

GO BROWNS!

It's just a shame because they really aren't built for the future either. They took a 28 year old QB and a running back, a position that wears down very quickly, and stuck them on a bad team.

I hope the new ownership turns this around and fires The Walrus. You guys deserve better.
