The Ravens haven’t been able to stop the run at all in Baltimore on Sunday, but it hasn’t stopped them from taking a 17-10 lead into halftime.
The Cowboys have run for 121 yards on 17 carries, but Tony Romo was picked off by Cary Williams on the Ravens’ 20-yard line and Joe Flacco used a series of passes to Anquan Boldin to set up a touchdown pass to Torrey Smith just before the end of the half.
Flacco is 13-of-18 for 174 yards and Ray Rice has 91 yards from scrimmage, so it’s not like the Cowboys defense has found much more success than the Baltimore unit through the first half. Both teams have been moving the ball well enough that there’s been just one punt between the two clubs. That makes Romo’s mistake loom all the larger as the Cowboys were on their way to more points.
The big question will be whether or not the Cowboys can keep the ball moving on the ground. DeMarco Murray hurt his foot before halftime and his status is unclear for the second half. They also lost rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne to a knee injury with the same uncertain outlook moving forward. The Ravens have been without cornerback Lardarius Webb and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata since each of them hurt their knees, which may make the winner of this game the team that can best adapt to the injury situation.
