Defensive difficulties don’t stop Ravens from grabbing lead

The Ravens haven’t been able to stop the run at all in Baltimore on Sunday, but it hasn’t stopped them from taking a 17-10 lead into halftime.

The Cowboys have run for 121 yards on 17 carries, but Tony Romo was picked off by Cary Williams on the Ravens’ 20-yard line and Joe Flacco used a series of passes to Anquan Boldin to set up a touchdown pass to Torrey Smith just before the end of the half.

Flacco is 13-of-18 for 174 yards and Ray Rice has 91 yards from scrimmage, so it’s not like the Cowboys defense has found much more success than the Baltimore unit through the first half. Both teams have been moving the ball well enough that there’s been just one punt between the two clubs. That makes Romo’s mistake loom all the larger as the Cowboys were on their way to more points.

The big question will be whether or not the Cowboys can keep the ball moving on the ground. DeMarco Murray hurt his foot before halftime and his status is unclear for the second half. They also lost rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne to a knee injury with the same uncertain outlook moving forward. The Ravens have been without cornerback Lardarius Webb and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata since each of them hurt their knees, which may make the winner of this game the team that can best adapt to the injury situation.

Torrey smith is a great receiver but he gets away with pushing off in the endzone a lot

What happened to defense in the NFL? The Ravens are getting the ball crammed down their throats and the Cowboys can’t stop a 5 yard pass.

Baltimore….the most overrated team in the NFL, barely beat the Browns, got shredded by the Chiefs(imagine if they had a passing game), are just about to get away with one against struggling Dallas on a bad kick. 4 out of 6 games at home this year… They have yet to play any calibar team. OVERRATED by media and fans.

@jl215 – Eagles, Cowboys, Patriots…even Bengals…we’ve played no one? We’ve played higher caliber teams than the Steelers & Bengals have been losing to… We have some serious problems on this team…but so does everyone else apparently. We’re 5-1, have yet to play more than one good game, with a 2 game lead in our division…I’d say the joke is on you, not us!

The joke will be on you raven homers. The refs helped you several times today . Cowboys ran you ragged. I would be very worried. You are starting to have injuries now so karma is catching you arrogant butts. Ha. Even ravenator is getting chills. Flag 51 has weak knees. Lol this is what everyone knows, ravens are good in regular season, but choke on the big biscuit when it counts.

win against the Patriots, what was that 1st game of the season? What would happen if you’d play that game now?I think Brady’d be all over them. The Eagles? c’mon. Cinnci (how good are they really)lost to the Browns today, whom the Ravens barely walked away from, again shredded by K.C., shredded on the ground and barely walked away from Dallas today…I know what I’m watching because I’m a fan of the game of football, I take nothing away from the Ravens a win is a win and there’s no doubt their the top of their division, just sayin as you did…they got problems
