If Clark Hunt gives Scott Pioli an extension, then I am done with the Chiefs. I have been a fan for over 25 years. If Clark is so DUMB and Tone Deaf to give Pioli an extension when the fans want Pioli Fired, and the Team Sucks (largely because of Pioli’s decisions) then Clark obviously does not want me to be a fan of the Chiefs. The remaining Chiefs Fans can enjoy Suckhood as long a Pioli is here.

Only in America is failure rewarded. Must be nice to be Pioli. Ride your success on Bill Belichick’s coattails (like Weis, Crennel, Mangini, McDaniels etc) suck when on your own, and then get a contract extension. Wish I was so lucky.

Keep in mind Scott Pioli is a guy that has never coached or played in the NFL. He owes his entire career to Bill Belichick – this is a guy that had the best coach coaching some of his borderline selections. And for those who think he selected Tom Brady…he didn’t, that award has been handed to Bobby Grier and Dick Rehbien. I feel bad for the Chiefs.

This is why it’s not usually a good idea for fans to do things like start online petitions.

While the intent may be commendable, it unfortunately usually has the opposite of the intended effect.

Management gets defensive and circles the wagons. The way they look at it, if they don’t give a vote of confidence to whoever the fans are trying to get rid of, they’re showing weakness.

No front office will ever allow it to appear that it allowed fans to influence their decision making process.

Unfortunately Pioli backed the wrong horse when Weis and Haley were there.

In his only year with Weis (former OC of NE), Cassel finished the year 262/450, for 3,116yds with 27 tds & 7 ints. A far cry from his performance since. Clearly he has the ability to start in the NFL, but only with the right system.

I’m not saying Pioli should have made Weis the head coach (Notre Dame anyone?) but they had a successful offence with Weis as OC (with Cassel at QB) and a successful defence with Crennel as DC. The fact that they let one walk away and the other become a (so far ineffective) HC falls on Pioli
