So by not spending a ton of money on “A” player or two (older players by the way) …thus opening up more cap room, and by having another draft class with one of the better GMs in the league, along with one of the younger rosters in the league that has a coaching staff that’s pretty good at developing young talent… you think this team is “going down” … what, cause a bad call makes ‘em 2-3 instead of 3-2… smh. have fun with that prediction aunt cleo.

Finley is a birdbrain with lots of physical athletic talent. But the birdbrain issue prevents him from being consistent and reliable. He’s just like Dez Bryant in this regard. You can take a guy with less talent but that has his head screwed on correctly and you end up with a better player.

This guy has pedestrian talent. He has shown nothing but mouth. The Texas Twit. Any number of a dozen other players could do better than him, including the two 0ther TE’s on the roster.

Teams with 28 year old franchise caliber QBs don’t sink down into mediocrity for long.

But it proves how important it is to have quality draft after quality draft to stay on top. Ted Thompson’s had a couple of weak ones and its showing on the field.

And “Going Down”? The Packers are a couple plays and a few blown callls from being 4-1. There is no one pounding the panic button in GB. They know what to do and how to get things done. Look out when it starts clicking in GB. If it doesnt happen too late, they are contenders for the Lombardi.

There are a few NFL teams that arent out of it until they are out of it. GB is one of them. They will always be decent because they dont let things get away talent-wise. They develope players every year. Proof of that is easy to see. Just look at every NFL team roster and see how many players were in GB when they entered the league.

Green Bay should just dump him now. He is a 50 percenter. He could be great if he gave 100%, but he will never be capable of giving more than 50%. Finley is a liability in GB. Just cant count on him when it matters.

His game is reminiscent of Jeremy Shockey. Great start to career then immediately starts dropping balls and causing more problems than he is worth. No coincidence the Giants won their title after he got hurt and Boss got his playing time.

I was a big defender of Crisco Gloves last season. But I just can’t back him anymore. It’d be different if he was still struggling, yet remained humble and admitted he needed to work harder. But instead he’s blaming chemistry with Rodgers who he’s been playing with for 4 seasons and his agent saying Rodgers isn’t a leader.

So I say good riddance. I wish we drafted Ladarius Green. But now it seems it’s next man up. Use the money to resign Jennings. Next year we have quite a few contracts up, we don’t need Finley anymore

If the Packers were really bold they would start trading off their big name stars as rentals and do some rebuilding. Rodgers is young enough to build another offense around him.

Of course, it’s to want to give up on the season when you have the best QB in your division (and arguably the league), but that’s why it would be a bold move.

I think I’d let Jennings go too. He just can’t stay healthy and is going to want stupid-big money. The Pack is plenty deep with (in alphabetical order) Cobb, Driver, Jones, Nelson, & Whoever else I’m forgetting.

I think it’s a forgone conclusion that Finley is gone after this year. He drops too many balls, makes too much money, and opens his mouth too much.

TT was smart to give him only a two-year deal. It gave Finley a chance to prove himself and it gave the Packers an early out if Finley didn’t improve his play.

Back in the late 50′s, as a young boy, The Lions had a top notch tight end (can’t remember name) who caught about everything.

One game he got his bell rung and missed the remainder of the season. The next year and subsequent years, he looked awful.

I mean it got to be laughable the way the guy couldn’t hang onto a ball whenever a DB was in the area.

So when Finley got hurt it got me remembering back and wondering if Finley would come back and play like Findley or the guy from the Lions.

You look at Finley since his big hit and his numbers are like that of two different people.

All this means is the Packers will resign this sucker because McCarthy loves him. And they will pay for it in more than money.
