Bills bringing back Shawne Merriman

With defensive end Mark Anderson out indefinitely with a knee injury, the Bills are bringing in reinforcements.

According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Bills are bringing back Shawne Merriman, whom they cut earlier this year.

Merriman didn’t necessarily look like he had a lot left when they released himin August, and he said he was waiting for a 3-4 team to call.

So either the Bills have made a change they’re not telling us about, or Merriman got tired of watching the phone not ring and decided to not be so picky.

Makes sense. As bad a player as he is now, he should know the defensive scheme considering he spent the offseason learning it.

Lol they’re really getting desperate now if they have Shawne “Empty Tank” Merriman back on their roster

    Lights back on.

I don’t like the move, but “Lights Out” knows the system (Even though he’s horrible playing in a 4-3.

At this point in the season I’m not sure the Bills had much in the way of options that would have been any better.

Anybody that watches the Bills know that we are HORRIBLE at Linebacker. They will probably slide Barnett to MLB, and rookie Nigel Bradham will play OLB, as well as Merriman. It makes sense. Don’t know why they released him in the first place.

At least he should know the Bills’ defensive “system” which apparently this season is giving up a lot of points.

This guy is a clown. As soon as he got busted for roids he has sucked. Looks good on him.

  14. FinFan68 says: Oct 15, 2012 4:27 PM

has he had enough time to benefit from steroids and have his system be clean?

  15. exibitsman says: Oct 15, 2012 4:37 PM

this bum still plays in the NFL. lol

  16. mrgroovesd says: Oct 15, 2012 4:52 PM

Glad he’s back in the NFL. He knows the Bills defense and hopefully can contribute. Alway been a fan of his ever since he was with the Bolts.

I wonder for how much? They have already paid him a ton of money for nothing.

I wonder though if he could help them in their real weak spot…………coaching!!!!

unless the nfl is allowing steroids he will be a non factor have never seen a player decline as fast as he did after getting busted . This is the guy that took a shot at jason taylor . Taylors next stop hall of fame . Merrimans next stop unemployment or trip to balco

Congrats Marriman, wish you all the best….We are still trying to find your replacement…We have great potential in Ingram, but he is makinking some of your rookie mistakes and will improve in time as you did…

Again , wishing you all the best in success…

I wonder if his agent was able to get him $100 million, since that’s the going rate for not pressuring the quarterback in Buffalo these days.

  23. franklinandbashandflorio says: Oct 15, 2012 10:34 PM

    He’s back on roids.

  24. fdugrad says: Oct 15, 2012 11:11 PM

Stick a fork in him, and as the late great “Dandy Don” Meredith would croon, “Turn out the lights”…. on “Lights Out.”

Bills saw Ray Lewis go down and figured they better beat the Ravens to the punch.

  26. mackie66 says: Oct 16, 2012 10:37 AM

Oh my Lord, the Bills have done something to their defense without telling PFT? Call Ginger Goodell to get to the bottom of this. How dare an NFL team change the defense without telling PFT. Next thing you know, PFT, is Headcoaches not giving you the skinny on injurys.

  27. trojanwarrior007 says: Oct 16, 2012 12:57 PM

he should take the risk and get back on the Roids.

  28. postaldude2012 says: Oct 17, 2012 9:51 PM

The bills might actually have something in that think tank of theirs for the first time in a long time, finally getting brooks back and to solidify their defense even more? They actually might be playing a hell of alot better now on defense.. Go Bills Go!

  29. postaldude2012 says: Oct 17, 2012 9:53 PM

And I think Shawn will even help his players with support, thanks Shawn! You just do your best and turn this defense around buddy!! Buffalo might start playing better now with that kind of fire power of Merriman!
