The Titans are coming off a win for the second time this season and they’ll have the same quarterback at the helm that they did when they beat the Steelers last Thursday night.

Via Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean comes word that coach Mike Munchak has named Matt Hasselbeck the starter for the third straight game. There was talk about Jake Locker making his return this week, but he is still recovering from his left shoulder separation and the team is giving him as much time as he needs after Locker suffered the same injury twice in four weeks.

It’s easier to do that after Hasselbeck led the team to a win in the fourth quarter against Pittsburgh. Hasselbeck was 25-of-44 for 290 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Steelers and completed two passes on the final drive to move the team into position for Rob Bironas’ game-winning field goal.

Buffalo is on the schedule this week and their defense had been looking awfully forgiving heading into Sunday’s win over the Cardinals. Their performance may have been a product of Arizona’s own offensive issues, a theory that the Titans hope Hasselbeck will prove correct in Week Seven.
