A Lisfranc injury IS ligament damage. (There may also be a fracture, but Lisfranc basically refers to the ligament.)

Exactly right, but also why it’s a misnomer that Murray is so often labeled a great find, or a draft steal. Everyone knew had all the talent in the world, but both due to his ability to keep his feet churning and fight for extra yards, his very upright running style, and just natural wear and tear, he’s very predisposed to injury. That’s why he slipped into the third round. Props to the Cowboys for making the gamble and props to Murray for being even more talented than anyone suspected.

Point being, while the Cowboys should continue to utilize his tremendous talents for as long as possible, and no one should doubt his gifts as a halfback, his injury problem is not one that will magically go away and unfortunately he is probably not due for a long NFL career. If he can do his rehab and fight through his injuries he should be able to push the Cowboys to a couple playoff runs, but no one should be surprised to see him inactive for three or four games every year or to see his productivity decline faster than it would with an average runningback.
