The number one reason most Super Bowl games are played in New Orleans and Miami is not the weather. It’s the hotel space these city’s provide.

New Orleans or Miami???

Crime rates???

Two of the worst places in the country for rapes, murders and assaults.

Miami – 8.7 murders, 35.5 rapes and 714.1 assaults

New Orleans – 24.4 murders, 29.3 rapes and 410 assaults

Host it in Phoenix, San Francisco, San Diego (if they still have a team there) or Atlanta – places that are much safer and these places know how to put on a party also.

Of course those are all “warm” weather areas – that the NFL seems to prefer.

But Indy did do an excellent job with last year’s SB, and Minnesota will have their new stadium ready by then – and is just as capable of hosting an excellent SB experience.

New Orleans? Those living there are so backward they think the NFL is out to get them. They think they are a mojor city, but cannot even support a daily newspaper!

I do not think it will be fair when the Giants complete their three-peat while winning Superbowl 48 in their own home stadium. Superbowl participants should not have the advantage of playing at home therefore Superbowl 50 can safely be awarded to either Miami or New Orleans since neither of those teams has a chance of playing in one anytime soon.

Play it in the stadium of the home team. This idea that New Orleans would host every other Super Bowl is tiring. Let the home team’s fans and city have the experience.

Not sure if you’ve ever been to a SB in New Orleans. If you haven’t, you need to go. This is by far the best place for the teams and for the fans. Should just have it there every year.

You people ripping on New Orleans are crazy. Despite the bad wrap we get on this site, Saints fans are among the most humble hosts you will find. We will not diss your team, we will simply thank you for visiting and experiencing the greatness that is our city.

Regardless of how you feel about the Saints, the city of New Orleans is untouchable when it comes to hosting a grand event. You won’t find a city with more heritage, passion, culture, or atmosphere.

Yea, Detroit sounds like a GREAT idea in January. That’s no better than NJ.
No offense, but that city has been hit hard and doesn’t have the ability to host a SB…IMO.

The City of New Orleans has nothing to do with the bounty investigation. That the Saints. The city has always been the preferred spot for big events, in spite of what Cowherd says the place is ideal. Easy walking for everything. I went to the Super bowl in Fort Lauderdale at the Dolphins stadium & it is really bad. A dump. The NFL told them to upgrade or lose out. The stadium is an hour from South Beach.

No Super Bowl should EVER played on an artificial surface. Saying that the league wants to pay some kind of historical homage is garbage. If that’s the case then play the game at Lambeau Field or Soldier Stadium! Playing the Super Bowl at the Super Dome is just lame now. That place is a dump. At least give it to Miami with the nice warm weather and a real grass field.

I hope it goes to Miami. I’m sure this will require a number of upgrades to the facility that will help modernize it.
