Suggs will return to practice on Wednesday

Dallas Cowboys v Baltimore Ravens Getty Images

As Peter King said over the weekend, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs will be back at practice this week, after suffering a partially-torn Achilles tendon during the offseason.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, however, Suggs will be practicing “on an extremely limited basis” when he returns.

And he won’t be returning to games in the immediate future.  Despite a recent report that he could be back for the Week Seven game against the Texans, Suggs most likely will come back at some point in November, and if he’s 100 percent he’ll provide a much-needed lift to the Ravens’ defense.

    Everyone wonders why the Ravens defense doesn’t look like a “Ravens” defense and it is because of injuries. Getting Terrell Suggs back will help them, but I don’t know if they can make it without L. Webb and Ray Lewis.

    Maybe it’s just me, but Terrell Suggs has the biggest head I’ve ever seen. I mean the damn thing is huge.

    The Steelers just wet themselves.

    Suggs is OVERRATED!!!!!

  5. greglloydrules says: Oct 16, 2012 4:49 PM

    He won’t be anywhere near 100% at any time during the season. He’s never been much of a run stopper anyways so he’s not going to be much help. All that luck is going to soon run out.

  6. randallflagg52 says: Oct 16, 2012 4:59 PM

    Not that much of a run stopper? Do you even watch this guy play?

  7. steelersownyou says: Oct 16, 2012 5:02 PM

    He will be either watching the sweep while on the field or on the sidelines. Wont matter its over for you ratbirds!!!

    Dude, what are you smoking? What sets Suggs apart from every other pass rushing LB/DE is that he is the best at stopping the run and setting the edge. Why do you think the Ravens are having problems with RBs getting the edge of the defense now? He’s equally strong at rushing the passer and stopping the run. Dude is the most complete LB in the NFL hands down. That’s why he won the DPY. Not just because of his 14 sacks but 3ints and 7 forced fumbles along with helping the Ravens finish in the top 3 again against the run. The D is suffering in all facets right now without him. The proof is in the pudding. Stop hating and give the man the credit he deserves

    LO

    LOL. I want to know what the ravens will use for excuses when they start losing. It is sad that so many good raven fans have to be embarrassed by a couple of mentally challenged fans. I know some steeler posters are out there, but come on is anyone in Baltimore going to claim they are proud of ravenator?

  12. husky2score says: Oct 16, 2012 5:22 PM

    Steelers fans still being their horrible selves. We won’t even need Suggs to beat the Steelers because they have no running game at all!

  13. jhammerr1 says: Oct 16, 2012 5:23 PM

    Suggs is a beast against the run, always has been! I think any Steelers player would disagree with him being “overrated”(remember the respect he got when he was first injured?)…that being said, I think he’s trying to come back too soon.

  14. steelersownyou says: Oct 16, 2012 5:39 PM

    Ngata makes suggs by taking up 2 blockers. If you didnt have ngata nobody would know who suggs is! Get it right. Ngata is the beast not suggs!!!

    But this doesnt apply to the Steelers thou right? Injuries only affect the Ravens. Lets be serious here, Ravens should have lost to the Pats and Cowboys, so that 5-1 record is not something to be proud of. And they just got worse last week.

    Truth is steelers are 1/2 game out of a tie for the third best record in the AFC. A win this Sunday puts them right back in the hunt. And the Steelers injuries will heal, Lewis and Webb’s, not so much. Long way to go.

    And you can thank Ravenator for the post, hypocrits.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Guessing you said that just to be controversial. If you actually meant it that means you are saying 21 of the 50 NFL experts who voted for him as Defensive Player of the Year last year don’t know their jobs. Interesting when you look at it that way.
  17. dontstabmeray says: Oct 16, 2012 6:21 PM
    Guess they are hoping for a miracle turnaround of that old, slow, and now totally banged up defense. He will be useless this year. Don’t worry, Joe Flacco is elite.
  18. rpiotr01 says: Oct 16, 2012 6:21 PM
    Is it just me, or is that a crazy fast turnaround from an ACL injury?
    We have enough to maintain first place…finished my ass. We still have a decent defense and an upper echelon offense. Enough to beat your team twice this year.
    Suggs won Rookie of the Year and went to one of his 5 pro bowls before Ngata got there. He also has the single season NCAA sack record as well as tons of collegiate awards and honors. All without Ngata.
    This cant be good news for AFC teams… if he starts playing now, he would be in peak form by the time plays offs roll in… i rate him higher than JJ watt…
    This guy is nuts trying to return so soon. Why do I see a total tear in his future? Why risk a career for regular season action. The AFC is so weak, just rest until the post season. With the Patriots not being who they ussually are the Ravens are just about gaurenteed a playoff spot. Sit out the season and return for the playoffs
    From day one Suggs said he’d be back in November and people laughed and ridiculed him and said “there goes Suggs running his mouth again.” Kudos to him – and welcome back – it’s always a pleasure to watch great talents play – regardless of whose uniform they’re wearing.
    Welcome back Suggs! You’re now a member to the 26th ranked defense. And that ranking was attained with Ray, Webb, and a healthy Ngata in the lineup.
    The Ravens defense has given up 118 points this season. The steelers defense has given up 115 this season.
    However, the Ravens have played 6 games, the steelers have played 5 games. So our defense is still better than yours.
    Too many haters on here its sad…First off this guy is a beast with or without Ngata and because he sets the edge it probably helps Ngata out…the fact that they won close games with a struggling defense only tells me that they are resilient and when the defense gets set they will be even better…Ellerbe will fill in nicely for Ray he did it last year and they went 4-0, losing Webb does hurt so the DBs will need to step up but with the return of Suggs it will help them out because QBs wont have much time in the pocket and will need to make early bad decisions. Also offensive lines will focus on Suggs and guys like Kruger and Upshaw will get their shots at the QB as well. Oh and this dude is a beast against the run whoever made that comment has no clue…quit hatin on the Ravens lets just play football!!!
    By the way unlike alot of the past Raven teams this one has a great offense…
  30. sixlombardisinyourface says: Oct 17, 2012 9:11 AM
    Pittsburgh’s not permitted to use the injury excuse but Baltimore is ? Pittsburgh is old, slow and done but Baltimore’s not ? Baltimore won 3 games beacause of their opponents self-inflicted mistakes (with Lewis and Webb on the field) and Flacco could not even get in the end zone once against KC. Max Starks stonewalls Suggs every game. Please let Suggs come back now, he won’t make it through a single practice without reinuuring the Achilles.
    A decent defense? Hahahahaha. That’s rich man. They give up 400+ yards a game. Upper echelon offense? You are aware that Joe Flacco is your QB, right? The average Baltimoron understands this team is done.
    I love how everyone keeps saying the Ravens should be 3-3 because they “should” have lost to some combination of the Chiefs, Pats, or Browns. If we are going to use that logic, one could easily say the Ravens should be 6-0 since they got a touchdown called back against the Eagles as a result of a bad call by the replacement refs. No, I am not using the refs as an excuse, I am simply making a point that all these what-if scenerios are ridiculous. The Ravens are sitting pretty at 5-1, and unless you are a Texans fan, your favorite AFC team only has a .500 record or worse.
