it is funny how exactly 1 year ago, EVERYBODY in the media was saying the exact same thing about how great cam newton is and will be, how he continued to grow as a qb last year, setting records left and right. carbon copy of all of the media's words today about bob griffin. 1 year later, after teams figured cam newton out, the media hype surrounding him sure died off fast. what makes anybody think this wont happen to the extremely overhyped bob griffin a year from now?

I think that RG3 is more dangerous than Vick because he’s far more advanced in reading defenses. With that being said, the Gmen will frustrate the rookie with disguises and schemes that he has not seen on film.Should be a good game, but Gmen will continue to dominate IMO…..Go Blue!!!!!

Gmen – 31

Skins – 10
_____
How do you figure? With no disrespect to Minnesota, New York will be the most talented defense Washington has faced this year. And so, while predicting a Giants win is not unreasonable by any means, predicting a blowout like this is totally ludicrous. Let’s look at facts:
Fact 1: Rex Grossman, Rex F. Grossman, dropped 20+ points on a healthier Giants defense twice last year: 28 in the first game, and 23 in the second. Rex F. Grossman.
Fact 2: Robert Griffin has never put up less than 20 points in a game he’s finished.
Fact 3: As talented as the Giants defense is, the Redskins are, by far, the best offense they’ve faced this year.

------------------
I agree Redskins are probably the best offense we've faced yet(49ers fans would probably debate that), make no mistake this is not last years defense. We got killed last year by your tight ends because our linebackers were suspect. This year our linebackers are playing faster(Keith Rivers,Boley,Kiwi) than last year. Also keep this in mind,Antrel Rolle is not a slot corner this year and is playing lights out in his natural free safety position.Prince is clearly establishing that he is a solid corner as well.I meant no disrespect with the score, but if you look at your game last week, you guys should've been down at least 21-0 early on.This game will mirror the 9ers game.We will jump out on your horrible secondary early and force your offense to throw which RG3, sexy Rex, or anybody else you have will not be able to win that way.Go Blue!!!!!

Spoken like someone who hasn't seen Griffin play since the hit in the Atlanta game. Since the concussion, the Third has had two runs that didn't end out of bounds or in a slide. They both ended in the endzone. Granted it's only been one week, but I think it's safe to say that Griffin is a smart kid and he's learned from the hit he took two weeks ago. whoa, whoa, whoa...
while i agree with your comment that predicting a blowout is ludicrous, i have a few issues with your point:
1) last year was last year. the same "healthier giants defense" allowed 17 to the 49ers in the NFCCG but only allowed 3 to a "more dangerous" 49ers offense last week. irrelevant.
2) keyword - finished. the giants are good at smacking around opposing qbs. bob will have to have his head on a swivel if he wants to play all 4 quarters, especially if he is running too many options against pierre-paul and tuck.
3) i can't argue with the redskins being a better offense than DAL, TB, CAR, PHI, CLE and SF, however the giants offense is the best the skins will have faced all year as well.

but i digress, your initial point about the blowout prediction being off-base is correct. i expect a dogfight between these two long time NFC east rivals.

No denying RGIII is a talented qb. But didn’t cam newton play on this type of offense last year? A whole off season for defenses to study his every tendency. RGIII rookie year won’t mean much, except to dead skin fans who are treating him as Christ.
Lets see if he turns out like cam newton
______
First of all, you mean Deadskins fans. “dead skin fans” would be limited to Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs and the CEO’s of dandruff fighting shampoo companies. “Dead Skins fans” include Marvin Gaye and… um… dang, I figured that would be a longer list… Does anyone know if Dave Chappelle is still alive?

More importantly, the two offenses are not particularly similar. The Shanahans use a run heavy west coast, while Chudzinski is more predicated on the deep ball and power run, like Mike Tice in Chicago. And as we’ve seen, when the running and blocking disappear in Chicago, as they have in Carolina this year, Jay Cutler doesn’t do so hot.

Additionally, Nothing against Cam, but Griffin is likely the better pure passer and a harder worker in the film room. Plus, he’s a more dynamic and versatile athlete: even after defense study his game tape, Griffin will be better able to pull new tricks out of the bag.

On top of that, I don’t want to launch a whole coaching argument here, but the Shanahans’ system worked well enough to win Rex Grossman five games, so even if I’m wrong about everything I’ve said above, and Griffin is a worse passer, a less dynamic athlete, and slacks off in the film room, he will still be better than Rex Grossman at every aspect of quarterbacking and that should be good enough to put them in the playoff hunt every year.

They are obviously different. Griffin can throw an accurate ball, read defenses and wont have a 1 to 1 turnover to TD ratio.

Comparing Griffin to Vick is an insult to RGIII. Griffin is already better than Vick has ever been. Once Griffin loses some mobility with age, he can still beat teams with his arm.

No denying RGIII is a talented qb. But didn't cam newton play on this type of offense last year? A whole off season for defenses to study his every tendency. RGIII rookie year won't mean much, except to dead skin fans who are treating him as Christ.

Lets see if he turns out like cam newton

He is leading the league in completion % and is 3rd in QB rating. He is a pocket passer with the ability to run, and has good film study habits. Vick is a strong armed inaccurate RB who never studied a defense until he got to Philly?!? No comparison.

Funny thing is, we are only at Game 7... the kid continues to get better. This will be an AWESOME test to see how he deals with G-men's upfront pressure.

I'm thinking screens to Evan Royster and Alf as well as quick passes to Fred Davis might be in the mix given the heat Griff will likely feel.

I'm looking forward to this one.... Skins D needs to continue to keep the WRs in front of them and not give up the big play. If they don't, it could be a long day against Eli, Cruz, and company.

As soon as the Skins cute little Georgia Tech offense gets figured out and dies like the wildcat, RG will get killed if he doesn’t become a pocket passer
______
Quick, quick! Somebody call Perry Fewell! thepvyharvin needs to let him know that his defensive gameplan is totally wrong. Griffin isn't a real quarterback at all, doesn't Fewell know that!!? What an idiot!

Seriously though, sour grapes much? For the record:, Griffin had two designed run/option/gadget plays in that game, the exact same number Percy Harvin had. The 76 yard touchdown was a broken passing play. It was 3rd and 2, there was a hole and he took off, Brady would have done the same, it's called being a smart quarterback.

And again, for the record, Montana and Young both ran the option their whole careers and I think they did OK for themselves.
