Felix Jones: I’m ready to carry the load for the Cowboys

In the first five weeks of this season, Cowboys running back Felix Jones was largely invisible, carrying a whopping three times for 13 yards. But Jones after Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray suffered a foot injury in Week Six, Jones is expected to start in Week Seven. And he says he’s ready.

“I want to help out the team any way possible,” Jones told Charean Williams of the Star-Telegram. “If that’s carrying the load, I’m going to do it.”

After Murray went down on Sunday against the Ravens, Jones stepped in and had 18 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown. So the early returns suggest that Jones is, in fact, ready. And he says he’s ready for a big game Sunday against the Panthers.

“I’m definitely ready at all times,” Jones said. “I’m just focused on today, focused on getting ready for the Carolina Panthers. I can’t look too far ahead because I’ll lose focus of what’s going on right now. My focus is the Carolina Panthers. That’s what I’m focusing on.”

If Jones is ready to play as well against the Panthers as he did against the Ravens, the Cowboys will be in good shape even without Murray.

Remember, if you carry a load … you can drop a load.

Cowboys have been pretty good at dropping loads these days.

He’ll carry the load right to the right up to his own thirty yard line, where someone will tap him on the shoulder and he’ll fumble it.

The only way he would carry that load is if that load were pure cake and ice cream.

I still don’t know why he was even drafted in the first round. He was drafted before Mendenhall and Chris Johnson if anyone remembers.

“I’m definitely ready at all times,” Jones said.

    *************

He wasn’t ready at the start of training camp when he failed his conditioning test (being unable to run 60 yards in 8 seconds). BUSTED. You’re not ready at all times Jones, liar.

He couldn’t stay healthy through the 2nd half of last week against a team that couldn’t stop the run.

Him and his mother are the only two people on the planet that share his opinion.

If Felix wants it and can take the whole load…

“I’m definitely ready at all times.”
Except, you know, those 16 games in four seasons when I was inactive due to injury, and the other 40 or so when I was active but injured. All times except those.
So much talent, and so little to show for it… come to think of it, Felix Jones IS the Cowboys.

My man Felix the Cat showed up big in the Ravens game. After being MIA so far this season.

    ==================================

Not to mention the 2 time NFL yards from scrimmage leader Ray Rice. How bums like McFadden, Stewart, Jones, Mendenhall, CJ2K, and Forte (the only good one mentioned) were drafted ahead of Ray Rice is astounding to me.

Just goes to show that the RAVENS have the best front office in the league.

Does any one else think Jerry Jones looks more like Don Knotts every year?
