Manningham, Staley questionable for 49ers on Thursday

The quick turnaround from Sunday to Thursday can be problematic for teams dealing with injured players and it’s left the 49ers with a few last minute decisions to make before taking on the Seahawks.

Wide receiver Mario Manningham and left tackle Joe Staley are both listed as questionable on the team’s injury report for the Thursday night game. Manningham has been limited in practice because of a shoulder injury, but his ability to get even that work in should help him be ready to be on the field at Candlestick. Staley suffered a concussion when he was blocked following one of Antrel Rolle’s two interceptions in the 26-3 loss to the Giants. He said Tuesday that he’s symptom-free, although he’ll still need to pass neurological tests to get the green light to help protect Alex Smith.

Running back Brandon Jacobs is also questionable, a status he’s got a lot of experience with this season. He doesn’t have any experience with actually playing in a game, something that briefly frustrated him last week before he decided that it didn’t frustrate him at all.

Quarterback Alex Smith is listed as probable with the sprained finger he picked up against the Bills. He’s expected to play, but he needs to play better than he did last week for the 49ers to avoid a second straight loss.

Well if 49ers are a good team you do what the Champions do next man up and go and win.

I am guessing by the sounds of this that the big bad 49ers got beaten up but the fluke pretender champions.

Manningham should not be an issue as he was a #3 WR last year and only that due to Hickson being out.

Good, maybe the Niners will actually run the ball this game.

I see you are riding high on a dominating win against my Niners but what you fail to realize, if you lose to the Redskins on Sunday, that would put yo u 0-3 in the division. This will have you guys scrambling for a wild card spot.
Be careful how you keep bragging, Karma has a hell of a way to show it’s ugly head. With a wild card, that could put you back at San Fran for a game, Wouldn’t that be sweet Karma to beat the Giants in route to the SuperBowl…………..

From a fellow Giants fan,if you are gonna talk slick and throw jabs at the 9ers fans, make sure you get your grammar straight. Also make sure you spell our players names correct.(Hixon) not Hickson. The views expressed by you do not reflect those of real Gmen fans!!!!Go Blue!!!!

As a Hawks fan I am very eager how this game pans out with both teams being 4 and 2 record this game will split the difference between the two . Both defenses look stellar and this game lands in the hands of Russell Wilson or Alex Smith. With Arizona’s team looking hurt this is the best time for the number 1 NFC West teams to break out.

Can not wait for this game! This will be a slobber knocker as both teams match up really well!

There will be no intimidation from either team and may the best team win.

And I’ll be rooting for my Niners!
