Everything aside, Rogers is really starting to get indefensible.

He's whiny at best. Smug. His commercials are shameless and terrible. Every time he opens his mouth you kinda want to slap him in the face. He does his little bromance stuff with Braun. I hope the packers go back to playing at the level of the completeness (one that plays no defense and can't run) of their team and stay there so we don't have to hear from this prick anymore.

The guy that faced the Favre saga storm... the guy that had to live with looney favre fans like Wisconsin77 openly wishing injury on him - yet never "lost it" or whined...
the guy whose oline gave up 50 sacks - yet never threw any of 'em under the bus....

you mean this guy needs thick skin?

"All i’m saying is if you can’t handle your quarterback being treated this way by the media, shut your mouths and put your keyboards away the next time someone writes an article about Cutler/Sanchez/Smith/Romo’s sideline demeanor or antics."

Amen to that...Jay has his own show on ESPN Chicago (Waddle & Silvy Show), listening to it you can tell they like and respect each other, and Jay is relaxed and easy going. I imagine this is more his true personality than what is on display after games, when his diabetes, and media scribes looking to stir up controversy, may be affecting his mood.

Instead of transcripts, which the media can spin without actually hearing the context and tone of a comment, the stations should send tape of the audio. I'm sure there will still be those with an agenda who twist a QB's words, but maybe not so much.

As for Rodgers, as a Bears fan I respect the man, both for his talent, and his character.

Strangely, I don’t see any posts on this site about the part in the 5 minutes interview where he raves about Randall Cobb and suggests the receiver could go down as the greatest draft pick Ted Thompson ever made.

Because, you know, it’s much more fun to read stories about how he’s a poor leader who takes all the credit and none of the blame

Rodgers is a great player and seems like a decent person, but he could thicken his skin and temper his comments once and a while. The team was the pre-season consensus NFC Super Bowl rep, they struggle a bit at the start of the year, people question the team, and Rodgers starts the nobody believed in us mantra to the point of putting a finger to his mouth in a shushing gesture Monday night. Next he says, not implies, that the rookies aren't working hard and uptempo on the scout team, a reporter asks follow-up questions, and those are "ridiculous"?
I am absolutely NOT a fan of the Packers... and as a general rule Aaron Rodgers annoys the heck out of me.

But the only thing "ridiculous" about this whole story is this article.

I had not heard about this story before this article but here is what I got out of it.

Aaron Rodgers: I said "X" and the coaches said "X" and why is everyone making a deal out of this?

This article: Aaron Rodgers needs to understand that when he said "X" what he really said was "X" and he needs to understand what his words really say.

Yeah he talks, but sure can play some good football, and that allows you to say what you want and get away with it. That win last week just made it all go away in my mind, and this is coming from a Bears fan whose QB is criticized constantly. As long as Cutler keeps winning he can act however he wants on the sideline.

Its really too bad because the show is outstanding he provides such an inside look at certain plays in the game. And its very light hearted, candid and funny at times.
Aaron Rodgers talks too much? He has a weekly radio show where he talks for hours. It would be tough to make that all player speak every week, so once in awhile he actually speaks his mind. The media blows up every little thing it can. He's right. It is ridiculous.

Holy SH!t you guys. This happens EVERY week. Florio picks something out of this extensive radio interview and people turn around and say "ALL HE DOES IS WHINE! WAHHH"

He does something no other QB does. Provides WEEKLY and interview with the local radio station. Candid stuff.

Yet when florio chooses an portion of the interview it makes it seem like he is seeking out the media to make sure everyone can hear what he has to say. When in reality he gets asked legit questions and gives legit answers. We should be thankful that a player in this league provides something other than fluffy BS comments.

I think the media is the biggest issue all around. A bunch of blowhards trying to get their name out there with a stupid story.

How about once a month you find a reporter to chastise for asking idiotic questions so you can lambast them like you do the actual athletes?

and quit with the coments like this. Geez.

"And he’s good enough with his words to know that some of his words will result in the subject of those words being questioned about those words."

You know, I find it quite funny how much the opinion on Rodgers and the Packers changes. Last week, anyone calling the Packers a fake or bad got positive feedback on posts, while people defending the Packers got negative. As you can see from the above comments, anyone bashing Rodgers gets negative this week.
It's amazing what one stellar performance can do, I guess everyone was reminded just how good Rodgers really is.

If people spinned what I said I'd be mad too. No 1 mentioned that this was mentioned in a team meeting by the head coach to everyone on the team. Everyone was aware that they needed to pick it up in practice. Nothing what Rodgers said was news to anyone on the Packers. Media tried to blow it up into the scout team is hurting my play. Ridiculous is right.

Of course he can't keep his mouth shut, there is always a microphone in front of it and its not as if he is actively seeking one out. I knew there was going to be Aaron Rodgers backlash coming to the NFL fan base in the middle of last season because people would tire of hearing how awesome he was and now it's a reality. But name one situation he hasn't handled with class. And don't say he is whining or a whiner just because he has an opinion, the guy has class and the respect of his peers. Even after Watt mocked him they joked about it. That's class.
