Also the Dolphins owner let him out of his contract or he wouldn’t be in Bama. Fact is Saban is a liar. He told the Miami press and the fans that he was going no where. Then he ran to Bama with his tail between his legs like a little fox.

Saban had full control of the Dolphins team. He was the HC and GM. And he was the highest paid coach in the NFL. He quit because the NFL was too much for him. Everyone of his first round picks was a bust. He chose Culpepper over Brees. He told his buddy BB of the pats to get Wes Welker.

Saban took the job because Mal Moore made him an offer he couldn’t refuse AND he had no control over his team with the NFL and Nick Saban is a control freak that must have control over his players. THAT is why Alabama has him and the Dolphins do not. He couldn’t even discipline his players. All he could do was fine them and that isn’t enough for Saban. He is a hands on coach which is great for Alabama but bad for NFL coaches.

From a value-creation standpoint, Saban is actually underpaid at Bama. If a CEO was able to improve a company as much as he has at Bama, he’d be paid a much, much higher percentage of the value (present and future) he has added.

Don’t forget the job he did at Cincinnati – that program was mediocre at best.

I still think he did a bad job making the transition to the Notre Dame job. UC deserved better from him.

I am not sure he is as effective in the pros as in college. In college he can bully players. He cannot do that in the NFL. His brand of football is very vanilla as well. He is able to get away with it in college because he has the best athletes but running dives, iso’s and off tackle plays all day is not how you win in the NFL. You need to pass the ball.

You had better believe Saban will use these rumors to get more money out of someone and do what is best for Saban.

This would be the worst thing the Browns have done in a long time, if they bring in Saban.

Cleveland is a young team, if they get rid of Shurmur bring in a guy who is a teacher, and can work well with younger players.

I would give Shurmur a chance, even beyond this year. I know the wins aren’t there yet, but the team is playing a lot better, and the wins will come.

Hasslam needs to look at the example his former team, the Steelers, have set. You need stability, and you need to give these men a chance to prove themselves.

It took Parcells time, it took Bellichik time, it took Landry time. Patience is rewarded more than rashness is in the NFL.

I would be totally surprised if Saban even entertains the idea of giving the NFL one more shot. He’s in the perfect situation at Alabama, at least for him (his choice of 5 star recruits, total control of the football program, guaranteed top 5 salary amongst all college coaches). He would be a damn fool to leave ‘Bama.

Not that I want him (I don’t), but was an assistant coach at Kent State, Ohio State, the DC for the Cleveland Browns, as well as head coach of Toledo. He also played at Kent State – so he has several ties to northern Ohio.

I also find it amusing that someone that is a Bills fan has the audacity to call out Cleveland (of all places).

If Saban wants more money I know of a big 12 team that could use his services. ESPN is paying them 30 mill a year and losing to Oklahoma in blow out fashions won’t last long with the network.

I assume they are talking about Saban coming in as HC of the Browns. They should probably quash that, stay the course, and stick with their current guy. He seems to be a steady hand, and is helping move them in the right direction.

He shouldn’t go back to the NFL. He was a horrible coach for the Dolphins and did nothing at all. Stay put where he is, they deserve him and his attitude. Don’t forget his wife, she couldn’t stand it in Florida, and let it be known. Good Luck Browns fans if he does go there, you will need it.
