With Bears looming, Lions have cornerback issues

Earlier this year, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has a simple message for the Packers cornerbacks: “Good luck.”

The same can be said to the guys who’ll be covering Brandon Marshall and Devin Hester on Monday night, given that Detroit’s starting corners are injured.

Bill Bentley (shoulder) and Jacob Lacey (concussion) didn’t practice on Thursday. If they can’t play on Monday night, the Lions could have a hard time containing the Chicago passing attack.

Potentially complicating matters is the fact that safety Louis Delmas didn’t practice, due to a lingering knee problem. It could be precautionary, given that Delmas returned last week from an injury that had kept him out all season.

Limited in practice was defensive end Cliff Avril (back), tight end Brandon Pettigrew (knee), linebacker Stephen Tulloch (knee), defensive tackle Corey Williams (knee), receiver Titus Young (knee), and defensive end Ronnell Lewis (eye).

The good news -- if there is any -- for the Lions secondary is that Bears receiver Devin Hester also missed practice on Thursday with a quad injury. Of course, that won’t help them cover Brandon Marshall.
