A notable group of talent to be sure. It’s a shame we’ll never now how good they really were and how many titles they would have won, since they were illegally using performance enhancing drugs at the time.

The nation saw the fraud that was Super Bowl 40. The Seahawks were the real champions that year. You know it. I know it. The nation knows it. Funny that Steeler homers don’t. LOL.

As for Super Bowl 43, you came oh so close to your first legitimate title. Unfortunately, Kurt Warner’s incomplete pass near the end of the game was called a fumble which it clearly wasn’t, and the play wasn’t even reviewed which was a absolute joke. The Cardinals would have had the ball on the Steeler 30 with one more shot at a game winning TD. So yeah, the refs gave them that one too.

Yup. I heard Terry Bradshaw admitted on the radio that he and his team was using steroids while they were winning titles.

And of course, contrary to what Steeler fans like to claim, abuse of steroids in the 70′s was NOT legal by federal law. They cheated, other coaches like Kip Wood and Jim Haslett even called them cheaters.

And if it was so “widespread” how come more steeler players have died over the years from heart and other steroid-related ailments than any other team? I don’t buy it.

Nope, you guys have no argument. Just accept that your titles are tainted by cheating and refs and move on.

Out of curiosity, which four are from cheating? The 70′s SBs? And what specific form of cheating are you arguing took place?

Please tell me it’s steroid/PED usage, because the argument can be ripped 95 ways from Sunday, on multiple grounds (e.g., widespread usage of drugs throughout the league in that era, involving half to three-quarters of the teams playing then; majority of confirmed usage within the Steelers organization involving o-line, which consists of guys who generally aren’t viewed as the backbone behind the 70′s dynasty; frequent use of drugs not to juice up, but to deal with injury; lack of knowledge concerning the implications of steroid/PED usage and lack of policy in place by the NFL to protect against it).

Read up before you run your mouth.

ESPN’s investigative skills are suspect at the best, regardless of the subject matter. Can’t believe no one has figured that out yet.

Your math is flawed. Not every player would have used them, some other painkillers would have been used so less players using , other players have more vicodin per week. Look at Walter Payton, he took them with Tylenol, got a double dose of acetaminophen from both products , scarred his bile ducts and died from liver failure.Play with fire , get burned.These NFL guys known the clock is ticking super fast every time they put on pads, time to cash in , free agency,etc. Let’s put you in their shoes, see what you do. I say 99 % of you go for the $$$$, take the roids, HGH, painkillers and booze and say, I’ll deal with it after my playing days are done.

It’s too bad that the original story was swept under the rug so quickly. I believe we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg on this and the real story of rampant cheating inside the Steeler has yet to be told. I believe cheating has been going on in the organization for decades. The cheating that brought them 4 titles, and made them competitive in recent years.

I bet some disgruntled Steeler employee is writing a tell all book right now and we’ll be hearing a lot more about this very soon.
