Gamble out, Beason “very doubtful” for Panthers

The Panthers offense is going to have to get better in a hurry, as two of their top defensive players are expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

They’ve already listed cornerback Chris Gamble (shoulder) as out, and linebacker Jon Beason (knee) as doubtful.

But Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Beason was “very doubtful.”

That should make the Luke Kuechly-or-Beason in the middle debate moot for another week, and frankly, even when Beason’s well there’s a solid argument Kuechly’s better inside.

For the Panthers to have a chance against the Cowboys, they’re going to have to turn it around offensively, where they looked capable against the Saints and Falcons, but lost the rest of the year.
