I think the Redskins broke into the Naval academy and stole the playbook. Next year the Redskins will be irrelevant again cause that offense will only work for a couple of weeks. The Vikings did not stop it when they needed to, they were not prepared to see a college offense on gameday in the NFL.

The Redskins gameplan and the Vikings gameplan both featured two designed wildcat runs, just because Griffin can scramble for a couple yards rather than take a sack or throw the ball out of bounds on a broken passing play doesn’t make it a college offense, it just means they have a talented scrambling quarterback, like Young, Tarkenton, Montana, or Archie Manning.

Leaving the whole issue of whether his hand was inside Griffin’s shoulderpads/jersey (it clearly was); Griffin was running out bounds, on a first down, when the horse collar occurred, which makes it not so much “phenomenal” as “pointless and stupid”.

If Griffin had been one step ahead of where he actually was, he would have been out of bounds and Smith would have gotten the horse-collar and an unnecessary roughness. Good player, dumb play: these things happen. Not a big deal in the long run, or even in the course of that game.

Right because there aren’t tons of hits on Griffin. Most are legal and are not flagged or fined. Including the hit that gave Griffin the concussion. I’d say that was a hard hit, would you?

So by definition that was a horse collar.

And that is with a rookie QB and every loss by a TD or less. Yeah the Skins are not SB material this year, but they sure are competitive in rebuilding year 3 with a lot of talented young players getting valuable experience.

Prime example besides Griffin is Trent Williams. Shut down Jared Allen last week and has played great do far this season. Alfred Morris is another. So is Ryan Jerrigan and Perry Riley.

A lot of exciting young talent in the Skins organization. Good time to be a Skins fan.
