I won’t say it a clear case of whitewashing, but it doesn’t look entirely on the up and up. It is like getting my dad to be the abitrator in a case between me and my neighbor. Meanwhile my dad is also serving as a member of my legal team in 2 separate cases I have running in court against the same neighbor. No one in their right mind would argue that this is fair or impartial in the slightest. I agree, Tags 1st few moves will be key.

I have always felt the NFL was holding back all the hard core evidence to save the players and league a huge black eye. I hope they get tired of this pathetic dance by Vilma and company and just unload everything on them and put this behind them. At this point, I would almost rather hear more Brett Favre retirement speculation.

You’re a little late all that evidence got proven to be wrong and not even being used anymore. Goodell went from having 50,000 pages to using a Greg Williams statement from after the players were suspended and the player’s statements from their meeting with Goodell

So Reggie White had a bounty program.The NFL allowed this to happen and ESPN acutally had a feature with Andrea Kremer reporting on this. So why wasn’t White suspended for his actions? Double standard applies here. Just like MLB had no idea that steroids were being used… Baseball was on the way out & owners had to do something to get it back so ppl would tune in….Homeruns out the wazoo is what you got got attendence & viewership went through the roof…reality check would be in order here….lots of folks suffering from rectal crainial inversion…

I’m glad Vilma has his own lawyer and that’s good, he has a good lawyer that is keeping his eyes on Roger Goodell and company. See Roger Goodell is a snake making to many turns he not fair and he sure not honest, he just trying to cover his butt. And still don’t want to do the right thang, trying to out smart everyone not going to work Roger Goodell they want a honest trial with evidences and witnesses what part of this you can’t understand. So they can move on the truth must be told so let be real about the whole deal.

This process keeps being compared to a ‘court of law’. It is not a court of law. These are employees being disciplined by their employer and the process should be compared to other employer-employee disputes. The fact that these highly paid employees and their union have threatened a lawsuit and involved lawyers in the process still does not make this a judicial proceeding.

Does anyone think that the players will not take this to court no matter who makes the decision unless the players are completely vindicated. Every statement from the players or their lawyers should be viewed in the context of an appeal and not the reality.

Did you miss the part where Tag’s law firm is actually representing the NFL in the federal bounty case and Goodell in Vilma’s defamation case? I don’t think he is being too picky if he decides that he would prefer that the “neutral” arbitrator not have an obvious conflict of interest.

Ginsberg’s gonna run out of people to complain about. He’s mastered the ploy of accusing others of impropriety. So much so that Ginsberg’s law license in a Florida District Court is suspended for five years and was fined $250,000 by the federal judiciary. He accused a federal judge of being biased against his client. The Court found the accusations to be so meritless it imposed such draconian sanctions. Ginsberg appealed. His suspension and quarter million dollar fine were upheld by the federal appellate court.

I agree that the players have to be able to cross-examine Williams and Cerullo. But Ginsberg is already claiming he won’t be allowed to despite the fact the parameters of the appeal hearing haven’t even been established. He’s also expressing concerns about Tagliabue and all the man has done so far is agree to hear the appeals.

According to Ginsberg, his clients never get a fair shake. So he’s asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review D.J. Williams’ case. Somehow Mr. Williams’ due process rights were violated when the NFL suspended him for submitting a non-human urine sample during a drug test.

When is Ginsberg going to realize the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf routine doesn’t work?

Well, I dont blame Vilma one bit. First and formost there is not one shred of evidence to link Vilma with anything except being a memember of the Saints football team. Tags, being another failed commish is being brought in for appearences and nothing else. Ginger Goodell knows what he wants to happen and now Tags is his patsey. Tags will simply state what Ginger wants stated. If I was an NFL owner and has seen, first hand, what this fiasco has done to the Saints football team, id be looking over my shoulder for a new commish. One with some common sense and a working knowledge of what is and is not evidence. Tom Bensen/Saints have lost this season.

The hubris of the NFL is mind blowing.

If Goodell wanted to ensure fair due process he could have chosen any number of highly respected retired federal judges who could impartially examine the evidence on it’s merit alone.

Instead, who does he choose to be ‘impartial’?
A man who collects a pension from the NFL.
A man who is a partner in the law firm that represents the NFL in all matters including the bounty case.
A man who, and this is the kicker, represents Goodell HIMSELF in the lawsuit brought by Vilma!
If Tags ruled against Goodell he’d be ruling against his own client.
Do you honestly think thats going to happen?

It’s a sham.

What if Vilma said he wanted HIS lawyer to be the ‘impartial’ arbitrator?!

i used to be a police officer. in over 2000 arrests only ONE time did a suspect ever admit absolute guilt to me, and that was someone i knew from high school who admitted to a b&e due to drug use. people simply refuse to admit their guilt when caught. it’s as simple as that.
