This is a bunch of nothing. The only thing happening here is Haslam saying dont make a move for the future without our approval. They dont want Herckert or Holmgren doing something that would harm the Haslam/Banner" plan.

And by the way, it would be stupid for Heckert to do anything without the new boss signing off.

I grew to despise Banner in Philly. However, for Cleveland, they can use a heartless leader for a few years to make the tough decisions where the fans influence means nothing.
--------------------------------------------------

Sounds like you think that Cleveland fans, up to this point, have had some influence over what's happened in Cleveland the last several years. Hilarious. If that were true, the current administration would have stopped at nothing to get RGIII. If that were true, Eric Mangini would still be there because the concensus at the end of the 2010 season among fans seemed to be to keep him after the team went on a 5 game tear to end the season. If that were true, Pat Shurmur would have never been given a HC job in Cleveland ('cause none of the fans wanted him). If that were true, guys like Evan Moore would have been on the field a lot more when he was hot instead of being rarely used. If that was true, they wouldn't have taken a 29 year old QB in the draft, etc etc etc.

I *don't* think the FO should be listening to the fans to make decisions- but I can assure you beyond the shadow of a doubt that the majority of moves made by this team over the last handful of years were NOT ones the fans wanted to see.

It’s amazing to me how many fans hate Banner while very successful, self-made men trust his decision making ability. I guess there’s limited intellect in Philly."

----------------------------------------------------

I take it you're talking about the self made men that are team owners, the guys who don't worry about bringing in championships or the sports side of the league at all. What they worry about is making sure that they continue to be "very successful self made men". Superbowl? Who needs them, as long as the money rolls in. So yeah on that aspect, I'd trust Joe too.
