While there are pass-rushers making miracle recoveries to play after Achilles tears today, Da’Quan Bowers isn’t going to be one of them.

Bowers began practicing this week, and there was speculation he could return after the Bucs cut defensive end Markus White Thursday.

Instead, the Bucs promoted cornerback LeQuan Lewis from the practice squad, according to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune. Lewis played three games with the Cowboys before being released and signed to the Bucs practice squad.

The Bucs have two more weeks to decide whether to activate Bowers, or just end his season. He’s insisted he’d be back, but every player in that situation does.
