Both offenses got off to a hot start in Indianapolis Sunday, but things slowed down a bit in the second quarter.
That slowdown didn’t come until after Andrew Luck had run for his second touchdown of the game, capping a 14-play, 76-yard drive and giving the Colts a 14-6 lead they took into halftime. It was nothing but punts and the end of the half from there, leaving the Browns 30 minutes to try to find a way to a two-game winning streak.
They’ll likely ride Brandon Weeden to get there. He’s completed 13-of-19 passes for 107 yards, which are only gaudy numbers when you compare them to the sputtering Browns run game. A week after getting gashed by Shonn Greene, the Colts defense has held Trent Richardson to eight yards on eight carries. That effort has helped them prosper after the Browns rolled to a touchdown on their first drive of the game.
The turnaround from last week hasn’t happened for the running offense. Luck has thrown for 137 yards, though, and his feet have the Colts in front heading into the second half.
